Default Intalling VRD grill?!?!?! so lost....

I just got a VRD grill but one of the bottom clip is broken....does that matter? (it came broken)

Anyways i was wondering how do you install the grill do you have to unscrew the screws? I don't see how you can just pop it out...feels like the screws are holding it in...sorry for the noob question....Thanks!

people have said that they don't need to take off the bumper? i just don't see how it pops out.....it seems like there are several screws holding the grill in place? do i have to remove those screws?

there are no screws holding it in place AT ALL. the screws on the top grille are holding the chrome trim around the grille, but is not connected to the bumper.

either flathead the clips out, or just hit or kick it really hard, which is what I did

Take the bumper off, it is a lot easier. It took my cousin and I about an hour with breaks.

it should just pop in. you need to use alot of force. taking off the bumper makes it much easier, and taking it off isnt as hard as it sounds

It really helps to take the bumper off. Mine and freedom's bumpers one of the clips where sorta melted back so we had to break off that clip. If we never took our bumper off we would have never seen it.

i don't see very much of a need to take off the bumper for just grilles..

smack off the old ones.. smack in the new ones..
takes less time than taking off the bumper.

I had the same problem with my lower VRD, one corner doesn't wanna snap in (even with a little hammer persuasion) so I just taped it in from the back lol

you CAN take the bumper off but thats a big waste of time. it should take you about 5 mins to uninstall and install the grills w/o taking the bumper off. since you're in La Jolla, i can help you out, I'm in PQ.

bottom grille, no screws just pops out. Top grille, remove 3 screws? Been so long since I had my OEM top grille...

I used some speaker wire and threaded it through the top then out the bottom of one side and pulled really hard while pushing the bumper. All the tabs popped in except for the bottom ones in the middle. Do the same for the other side, you can also use rope.

BTW, now that I have the RS1 lip, it's much harder to install the bottom grille without removing the bumper.

for those with rs1 lips and vrd grills, can you take a photo of the lower grill and post it so i can see how tight the fit is? i already have my rs1 lip painted and mounted (2 self tapping screws in each wheel well and 3m double sided tape running along center area)

a couple photos much appreciated!
