Default JTautostyle Lambo installed...

So i just stopped by the shop and they finished the lambo doors.
Everything fits perfectly EXCEPT the door(botom) isn't flush with the front fender!!!

It's not noticeable from the rear, sides or when the door is open, but if you look at the car from the front there is about a 1/4" gap where the bottom of the door sticks out of the fender. I'm not realyl sure of many people wit hthe JTautostyle doorkits and i haven't heard of any problem like this before...

It doesn't look terrible but the door sticks out and isn't flush with the fender which doesn't look very presentable IMO.

If anyone has any comments, opinions, or details on this or could help me out. please reply ASAP.
Thanks.

Did you tell the shop to fix it? We(Team ScionTific) have 3 tCs with their kits installed at JTautostyle with no problems, just might be the shop did not do a good job installing them.

No i wasn't able to get pictures.basically the bottom of the door sticks out 1/4" so you can see a little inside the door if you look headon at the car. I got the kit directly from JTautostyle and the guys who are doing my car said it'll be 250$ to "bump" or mold the fender, paint it, etc. to make it flush with the door. This seemed very weird seeing how other people with tc's didn't have this problem...

They said they had to shave a part of the hinge to make it fit my car?!

the only thing they should've needed to do was cut a piece of the front fender to make room for the hinge...

and then it sounds like they needed to adjust some things with the hinge.... and omg if they did anything about shaving it...

I will post up pictures tonight, this is a big problem for me. Overall the kit and the install was 1K, i don't feel like paying an extra 300$ just to align my door with my fenders, they should've taken care of that, and the kit DEFINATELY fits fine. Everyone that had the JT kit that i've talked to said it fit perfectly..

Maybe they didn't shave the fender?would that be the problem?

I talked to the manager at the shop and he said they DID cut the fenders to make room for the hinge, they shaved a little bit off of the hinge but it does have a great fit.

The (bottom) front fender just doesn't line up with the door.
They said i could leave it but if your looking at the car from the front you can see inside the door a little bit which doesn't look that great...

Definately a concern.... I had a 1/8 inch clearance issue, but only due to me cutting the inside of the fender and it moving a bit... I just pushed it out a lil' bit.

I'd get in contact with the guys at JT and take some REALLY good shots of the doors.... That is definately your best recourse and will get you the most results.

i saw them today, i think they look amazing. the guy was tellin me that he had to shave (i think that was the word he used, garrett correct me if im wrong on that one) the hinges a little to make them fix and then do somethin with the fender to make it fit properly and look good. but the doors are unbelieveable. im gettin them this summer, after rims and the RS1 lip kit.

oh yea dont forget to call me thrusday when its done, cuz my friend with the rsx-s wants to see it too.

well that sucks the shop didnt install them right if no one else is having issues with the same set you have. I wouldnt want a half as*ed job done to my car. If the door dont fit properly they are always going to look like crap and youll always hear stuff about it and never be happy, have them fix it even if it does take an extra 300.00 get it done right.

ahh to hell with that... they should've installed it right in the first place.. i wouldn't pay a damn penny for something they should've done right to begin with...

oh.. let's see.. "i'm gonna ____ up this guy's install so he'll have to come back and pay me more to fix it".... um.... no.

Yea, shaved is the correct word dave, lol
It's all done tomorrow(after all this time!)

I paid them the 300$, but it's good because i guess the guys aren't very good at math(i was suppose to pay another 500$ but i guess they left something out, lol)
So i actually gained 200$ which goes toward my Injen(thank you dave!lol)

Pictures up tomorrow around 3PM
BIG post =)
