Default Just purchased Halo bulbs...

Had to bring in my car today for a check-up and oil change this morning.

Ended up talking to one of the service dept. guys who also owns a tC
and stirred up a friendly conversation about parts and what I should do next.

Somehow, the topic of headlight bulbs came up.
And the next thing you know, he's hooking me up with a set of
HALO Super-Whites from the dealer for only $20.

Sure why not I thought, since I've been planning to swap out the stock
ones for a while. After lunch I'll probably install, snap a few pictures,
and check what the real difference is from the stock bulbs.

I'm probably going to pick-up some PIAA yellow's for my fogs tomorrow
and some wedge bulbs for my parking lights.

Anyone have any issues with these HALO bulbs?
I hope none since they are stocked at the dealer.

I saw these at my dealer too, they had yellow, but when I read the package it said 45w. (45 watt bulbs?) Isn't that kinda low. I mean, I know if it's too high you'll fry the harness, but would low wattage bulbs make them dim? I don't know, maybe it was only the yellow ones, but I just decided to stick with the bulbs I have.

They were $29.99 though. You say you got them for only 20 bucks huh? Can't go wrong for 20 bucks.

the brand i've seen around abit. it has a nice reputation and for the time that i was running them i liked them..

as far as why i don't now.... that's another story... nothing to do with the bulbs being poor though.

with that price... it's great.

Besides buying from the dealer, anyone know where I can pick these up for a good price?

Also, if anyone has any pics of these installed

I couldn't find them online or anywhere else.. I tried searching before deciding to buy them from the dealer for $50 (I used my scion gift card). But I think they're up there with SilverStars. Not as 'bright' but color is great.

Here are my pics from my other thread. [b]These are Platinum Whites[b]. As white as they get. There's also Super White, Voilet, and Yellow.

The bulb isn't blue unless light is passing through it. And here, it's the flash from the camera. 2x the size of stockers and SilverStars.

This pic, and all below it are of Halos. I just don't know why they look kind of yellowish..

from those pics it looks like the halos are just brighter but don't provide as much visible light...just like most aftermarket bulbs. the stocks are more yellow, but they actually help you see.

So I took a long nap and totally forgot that I had promised
to do an install and take pictures, so I just did them right now.

Install took about 10 minutes.

This is the stock bulb.

These are the HALO Super White's.

Here's a comparison.
Towards you, the left is the stock & the right is the HALO.

Not bad for $20 I say.

Tomorrow I'm purchasing yellow PIAA bulbs for my fogs,
which I think in my opinion would look pretty nice with the new HALO's.

For those who have HALO's, which colour gives off that more of a
"HID" look? I'd like to see the different ones on your car. I was thinking of
going back and exchanging them for the purplish ones.

I want that HID look

I would say the ones I have are nice for the "hid" look. It's more blue than the ones you have. And to me, it's blue at certain angles and white when looking at them dead on.

I parked my car tonight and left my lights on and walked about 15-20 yards in front and they looked really good. I'm happy with them.

The purple ones are too purple for me though. But you might like them..

Did they have the display at the dealer? where you press the button to see the bulbs turned on? I turned all of them on at the same time to decide which ones I wanted.

I still have my stock wedges on.

Maybe if I change them, the colour may come out differently.

Oh, and one question I've been meaning to ask...
When your headlights are on, are your parking lights on too?
