My camera is nikon coolpix S1 5.1MP
Mudguards are not that attractive but they definately help to keep the side and back of the car clean. I love them.

Anyone else think it's a little weird that we're gettin' worked up over some mudguards? They don't even have nekkid ladies on 'em...

Riboflavin,

Your mudguards look great painted!

I am thinking of having some painted (no skills myself) and putting them on the car. The bodyshop I spoke to cautioned me about painting certain types of plastics, sometimes the paint will come off after a while. He had never painted Scion mudguards and didn't know if the paint would hold up well on them.

It's gonna cost me a couple hundred bucks to have em painted, just want to make sure I am not wasting money. Anyone out there with bodyshop experience/knowledge know if the paint will stay on these mudguards?

Thanks,

Sig

SigmaChi3,

Yeah I'm kinda worried about that too because after few weeks, I already got few paint chips from rocks and road debris on the bottom part (not noticeable tho). Obviously, it's really hard to prevent them from chipping because of the place they are on. The material is holding the paint fine but if they get too many chips in the future, I will repaint them really well (since this time was my first time to paint on plastic, I did an okay job but not best) .

Yanki man, just buy them already

Besides, they save you from so much crud (and especially stones!) that its worth it even if they were hot pink and have Mugen logos on it

Seriously, they just blend in on FM. You can paint them if you want but its really not necessary on FM. It's supposed to be an easy install as well... but it took me over 1 1/2 hours to do by myself, in the scorching Florida summer sun. Stupid plastic screws never actually tighten... because they have nothing to screw onto or something... its like one time use only, and if you don't get it the first time, well, then... you're SCREWED

*rimshot*

... ok

@ riboflavin: looking really good man! I like what you've done... the mudguards definitely go well on your car (painted mudguards, that is)

It took me less than 20 mins to install. I took off the rear bumper for install of the mud guards AND my red TYCs. I painted mine black and you can hardly tell that they're on. It's been about 9 months but I'm starting to notice chips on them towards the bottom. Will most likely paint them again in the summer.

Yanki01: Buy them and just clear coat them. They will blend in perfectly with your FM.
