Default Kamanari Carbon Fiber Roof

Hey look at this......I remember when the Kamanari Carbon Fiber Roof cost over $1000 to get one of these, now they are $395 on Kamanari's website!

Did anyone else know about this?

Anyone know what the weight savings would be?

Yep Ive got a V.I.S. cf hood and the weight difference is significant, but the Kaminari roof would make an even bigger difference because the stock roof glass/sunroof/metal rails has got to weigh at least 120 pounds

You'll save about 45lbs.

Cool, thanks for the info! Do you have one of these yourself? How did you find out the difference in weight between the stock roof glass and the cf roof?

Saves about 45 pounds dry, when it rains, the car will get heavier since leaking is a MAJOR concern with an aftermarket CF roof.

.......not if you cut wholes in the floor with a blow torch and put carbon fiber drainage inserts in! lmao

Ha yeah I figured it wouldn't be the most air tight but by the time I get ready to get the Kaminari roof, I'll just make this my dedicated track car that stays in a garage on non track days, meanwhile I'll get another daily driver, probably a Tacoma X-Runner or something.

I bought one. Still putting together a plan for the mounting install. raamaudio had some great advise but I have been procrastinating. The roof weighs roughly 21lbs. It looks like the areas I plan to replace will be around 85 lbs. I expect to add maybe 10 lbs in the form of a mounting bracket. Netting around 60 lbs from the highest point in the car. I don't expect to have any issue sealing the roof. Window urethane is some serious stuff when applied correctly.

Cool man, please post some pics on this thread and let us know how the install went once you've got it installed!
