License Plate Mounting Brackets
So I just took my tC in to get serviced and inspected. While it was there they had to mount my license plate to my front bumper. And to do that, without telling me they were going to do so, without asking me if it was okay and without even notifying me it was required for inspection, they drilled two big holes in my front bumper to put my license plate on.
I had my front bumper replaced recently and I specifically asked them to not drill holes in the front, to just give me the license plate and I would put it on my dash. I never got harrassed by police officers, I never got told to get it on the front. It was never a problem.
If they had told me it was required, if they had asked me if they could do so, that's one thing. But to drop your car off at a certified Toyota/Scion dealership for service and pick up the car essentially devalued is inexcusable.
So I called up the manager and gave him a piece of my mind. He agreed and they're going to fill in the holes and repaint the front. But if it doesn't look immaculate, they're buying me a new front bumper.
Anyway, long story short, I need some mounting brackets for the tC that dont require drilling and wont scrape or anything, just so it can pass inspection. Then off goes the mounting bracket/license plate. Any one make these?

I'm not sure how things are different, i know you need a front license plate in RI, is there anyway to get around that, considering it looks like crap when i have my bodykit on...

but ive gotten pulled over once, got a warning. i told the cop id pay the fine instead of putting it on/drilling holes, cuz i wasn't doin that to my $17k car
Ehh.. they are usually like $50-60 fines.. Still a lot of money.. I seriously would love to know the actual justification for the tags on the front.. there has to be a good reason.. I just cant fathum it.
