Default Look Ma, No Flames! |||Now With Pics||| 8-2-08

So finally, after much awaiting by you guys, I'm getting rid of the flames.

These flames (for those who don't already know):

But I was wondering, assuming I don't find any adhesive remover, will bug & tar remover work just as well? Secondly, are either potentially harmful to your paint? I just can't help but think that it can't be good to spray something on your paint that has the power to remove tar and guts and stuff.

Anyway, hope to be doing this later today or sometime tomorrow. I'll be sure to post pics.

I've used bug and tar remover more times than I care to remember. Never affected my paint. I always used the rub on kind, the spray I never really liked. And yes, it will remove sticky adhesives pretty easily.

Thanks HR_Guy, that's what was looking to hear!

My parents are mad lol. They didn't want them on there to begin with. But they say they're getting used to them now and would rather me just leave them on.

Yeah debadge-ing is next in line I think. I just got some vent visors the other day. I'll post pics of those as well when I get pics after removing the graphics.

In regards to that: Where can I pick up a rear hatch garnish or whatever it's called? Preferably already painted to match a CSM tC. And an OEM looking front grill with no "Scion" emblem?

alot of ppl sell there badges on here.
you could contact iKona cuz he does alot of badgeless garnishes so hes got alot of them laying around but given the recent events i wouldnt really recommend it.
the OEM looking grill with no emblem is custom, you have to buy a lower, cut it, and ziptie it in the upper trim.

Recent events??? Enlighten me, please... And would I have to send in mine or would he have one of his own to paint n send?

How hard is the grill to do? That makes me wanna just buy an aftermarket badgeless grill or black out the emblem. I just don't want 2 different looking grills on top and bottom. I have fogs and don't wanna lose them.

Nevermind with the whole iKona deal. I looked it up and saw what people were complaining about. Anyone else do garnishes?

I'll try an ebay search later. I'm still interested in how you make the grill though if anyone knows.

there is no DIY, it was removed.
just take a lower grill, dremel it out, dremel out the upper grill to and trim the lower piece to fit then ziptie it in.

I may try that sometime. But not anytime soon. I have a lower grill in the garage from when I got the oem fogs.

You could also take it to a reputable body shop that could do it for you. This one shop here will charge me $250 to have it done.

(To take off the Scion badge on the rear garnish, fill in the holes, smooth finish, and color patch my blizzard pearl)
