i went to the dealer to find out some info on that grill that the RS 1.0 tC has and they don't even have it on file!! he said it only shows the regular one with the emblem on it.

The grill that is standard on the RS 1.0 is only optainable as a replacement part. There is a part # from Toyota for it, but from what I hear, it's very pricey for a combo set. I'm sure that you can get one elsewhere for cheaper soon.

try Grillcraft.....they have a black one.....but I think it's only the top and it has smaller honeycomb pattern....

I've got a spare lower grill piece that I'm going to fabricate to fit the upper spot so both grills will look the same.....and no scion emblem in the middle.....

You mean like this???

I got bored and pulled the front grille. Super easy. Pryed logo off with small flathead screwdriver, just sticky tape holding it on.. A few screws hold on the chrome. 2 coats of black primer. 4 coats of duplicolor truck bed liner.

You can replace the logo but I'm not. Looks good IMHO. The paint is comming off of the chrome piece. I was testing the krylon fusion "no prep" paint. SUCKS. Need to sand the chrome with fine grit (200+) sandpaper and prime before painting.

Cost = Bedliner 3.75
Primer 2.50
Red 3.14

Total 9.39

Try it or don't. It's your car.

go to home depot and get gutter guards.
Fit it, paint it black, lay some clear, and you got a black grill for about $10.

I did it on my tC and it looks pretty damn good.

I'm not painting my scion logo.....I'm taking the upper grill out and replacing it with a lower grill that will be cut to fit.....so it will look similar to the painted ones, only there wouldn't be ANY logo at all.....will be ultimate cleanliness!!!

I think the billet grille is ugly! I'm thinking about painting my scion logo black also.

Can you please post more pics of your grill? I also have a SW and i'm thinking about painting the scion logo black. If you can take a more zoomed-out pic, i would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

on the grillcraft upper grille, u don't need to leave the stock piece on to install it. their are directions for doing it under General (tc) headlined "Black Grille" on page 3 or 4 i believe. i just did it following the directions on that post and it worked perfect. i love my grillcraft grille. i'm trying to figure out if i'm liking the grillcraft emblem or not.
