I just bought a used 06 Scion tC and love it so far. When I bought the car from the dealer it was missing the lower front grill and when I told the dealer about it he said it was a added feature and I'd have to buy it. I can understand the grill with the fog lights being an added feature but the factory looking grill being an add on? Was he just feeding me crap or is that true?

You can't really see it in my picture but its the grill below my front plate....

i'd call scion corporate too.

 

that comes with the car. id let them know about that and yea let scion know. i let scion know everything wrong about my car when scion acually called me

doesn't matter unless the damge, in this case the missing grill, was stated by the dealer upon purchase, then he is entitled to it. He bought a used '06 tC, not a used "06 tC with slight damage and a grill missing

go to the dealer demand your grill, and call up scion corporate and tell them what this dealer is doing

Even if it IS missing, that's BS that they told him it's not included...That it's an accessory?

 

OK I'll go raise some hell today. The sunroof is stock I just have the back of it open....rasies it about an inch before it opens. I had 4 items that I wanted fixed, rock chips in windshield, rock chips in paint, front lower grill missing, and a burn mark in the rear seat. They said they would fix all but the grill since it was a option that didn't come with the car. Oh and since they haven't fixed my rock chips in the windshield I came out this morning and have a nice 2ft crack now....guess they will replace the windshield also......

let us know how hey handle the situation. I've had some trouble with my dealership recently but they're handleing it pretty well for me.

Just got back from the dealer.....God I hate them! The salesman went above and beyond but the sales maganger was a piece of crap, "I guess I bought the car as is....its used!" Which I knew that but the fact of the matter is that I was told that it is was an option and it comes from Scion that way and it would be $150 upgrade. So I agrued my point and said I guess I'll call Scion Corp and tell them the problem. Once I said that the saleman took me back to parts to look up the cost of the lower grill.....$50 freakn dollars...than I was ____ed I was lied to twice by the sales manager. Long story short the salesman bought me the grill, he went above and beyond...I wish I could stay the same for his boss. BTW they are replacing the windshield also.....

 

used car policy. you take it off the lot and if they didnt say they would get you one. then your sool. you should have got a we owe ticket. other than that. yes it's as is.

 

was that a toyota scion dealer ship you went to? ... an why not gt a new 06 or 07 ? i was thinking about a used tc but it was only about 3k cheaper then a new one.. so i went new..
