Default making some angel eyes *UPDATE w/pics! pg. 5*

i want to make some angel eyes for my car. and i was wondering if anyone that has taking the headlights apart. could tell me what the distance around the rings on the low and high lights are. i also would like to know what i could use as a model to put the acrylic rods around when i heat them up. anyone that could help me would be great.

yeah.. after looking at some items available for sale...
i'm like.. goodness gracious.... i can make them better...

i'm in the process of doing exactly what you're looking for actually.... finding a spare set to get those measurements... i'll post them up or let you know as soon as i can.

i'm anxious myself of producing something that looks better.. i already have the ideas in my head of what to do.

won't compare to ccfl... but ehhh... i'm one person who's on a mission (kinda like doc i) to DIY and make it affordable and great lookin' and to help others out.

i've got an extra headlight laying around the apartment... friday is the first time i'll be able to bake it, i'll take it apart then and see how big the sockets are.

i've been wanting to do DIY acrylic rod halo's for a while now.

yeah.. same here.... wanting to do this forever.. but didn't want to use the only headlights i have (which is on the car)

i already have my little "manufacturing" process mapped out...

it'll be visible during the day.... no doubt about that.

waiting for someone to give me a ruined set or some spare to work with.

hmm.. no guarantee it'll come back in perfect condition though if you send them....

hmm... maybe. gonna make sure i have the time and resources to be able to finish the project before i start...

i still have cut open taillights that have been sitting at home for months.. hmm.. at least this project won't take as long and i actually have an idea of how to approach it better..

a more practical project... nevertheless

I sent my stock headlights to someone who wanted to do something like this and the post office destroyed them. So be careful sending them out like that.

That is from the tips of the rings, and it will matter if you measure it from the middle since the middle is smaller.
