I was thinking about replacing my antenna as well, and I also head about them being stolen before. Is there something you can do to prevent this? Or do I just have to take it off and carry it around with me when I park somewhere?

Yea, I was going to suggest some sort of adhesive. Loc-tite works awesome! Thats what we use for all of our aero-space applications.

Since this thread got bumped from 4/05, is there an alternative to not having an antenna at all? I have satellite radio and don't need my antenna. Do they make an antenna cap that just seals the hole for our car? I am not looking to shave it down or get rid of it, but just take the actual antenna off

I've talked with several people about this- there's no quick fix solution that i'm aware of. I know Honey0Bucket has done it to his tC and it looks great- but it was body shop-esque work. Involved threading the antenna up through the car frame and filling in the hole with some body junk, sanding, painting, sanding, painting, then sanding and painting some more, followed by some painting.

It looks great but I think unless you know someone who will do it on the cheap it would be mad expensive at a body shop.
