Exclamation Modding exterior, need suggestions.

ever since i got my scion i've focused on modding the inside and under the hood. i've been completely ignorant and a stranger to the the exterior modding... but now it got to the point where im paying attention to the look of the car.

what i want to mod in the exterior?

headlights
tail lights

i've seen the 09/10 version taillights (which i like a lot and leaning towards) but i was wondering what other LEGAL styles are there? i'd be great if you guys could post the most known tail and headlights used in scion tcs so i can make a good choice after seeing most of them. i shop on ebay so if you have an ebay link that'd be great also.

now after that i dont know what else to mod! lol. i mean i'm a noob when it comes to style and what things i could add to the car to give it that extra spice. like i have no vision or ideas since i've always focused on the mechanical aspect of things. i've seen some rims with colored edges/stripes? i don't know, if you guys could tell me something else you'd recommend me to mod on the outside that will make the scion look more 'cool" / "stylish", i'd really appreciate it.

I have the 06 oem taillights and headlights. Thinking of getting some Anzo taillights. But there are other things, like fog lights, vrd grills, front lip or bodykits, spoilers, tint your car, stickers, rims... have you consider anything of that before?

1. Lower your car.
2. Tint your windows
3. Badge-less grill

Top 3 things (in my opinion) that make the tC look wayyyy better.

thanks guys... looking at that spoiler a second time made me second guess it.

guys well where can i get the 2010 scion tc taillights (or some tail lights you guys would really recommend?), these ones:

http://www.natm.ca/wp-content/upload...cion-tc-02.jpg

because i have a 07 scion tc and i really am starting to dislike the plain red boring tail lights.

@ kanchi : great post.

would you recommend me painting them myself even if i havent done anything like that before? if so, are there any tutorials or step by step guides i should look at?

and what do you mean by bake in 1. point? and also kanchi, is there anyway i could remove the orange color from the headlights, this is what i mean;

GOING back to the tail lights i also liked these:

what do you guys think?

^^ by baking the headlights I meant just that. In order to open them up to paint them/ remove the orange piece you will need to heat them up to loosen the factory sealant that helps keep them together and the elements/dirt out. FYI it will be a delicate process and some fabrication may be necessary but I did it and cleared the corner out and painted the middle section flat black adn it ended up like this:

For teh wheels yes you can do them yourself! Easiest way would be to:

1. Take them off the car and lay them flat on the ground.
2. Make sure they are clean on the face and the barrel (behind the spokes)
3. Use some fine sand paper like a 1000grit to rough up the finish on the wheels
4. Tape off & cover around the wheel well past where you thin you may over spray to
5. Lightly use a self-etching primer and spray the wheel, noting that complete coverage is not necessary for this type of primer
6. Using several light coats, spray your desired color onto the wheel
7. If desired, use a clear of your choice and sheen to cover and protect the finish of the wheel.
8. Allow to dry and put back on car!
9. Stand back and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you were responsible for the awesomeness you see!

As far as taillights do these or tint them:

Pic of them on my car:

Quick question on the Anzos, theres a version where that clear part on the bottom is tinted. Is that legal? cause I've already been pulled over for tinted tails -.- and I dont need a repeat occurrence of that day.

1. Lower the car, it'll look so much sexier...
2. Tint your windows, you don't people peaking through your windows and invade your privacy.
3. Front Lip or VRD fog lights, it complements well with the lowered car.

My opinion on what you should do first.
