Default Money to Spend...what to do?

Hello ladies and Gents. I just bought my new tC 2.0 Release in April and i love it. I have lowered it w/ TRD springs, got the blue lights inside, TRD exhaust, door sills, and have ordered the TRD short shifter but it has not come in yet...

Anyways, i have about 800 bucks to spend on the car and a little more if i go a different route.

I would like to improve the perforance of the car slightly, nothing crazy, and have read the forums but I am not a huge car buff. I have read that the DC headers are possibly the best choice because of their ceramics. I am looking for a good deep sound as well. I have also read that megan headers are very good and reliable as well. The first piece i would want to purchase however is the AEM cold air intake. They seem to be most liked. Other than that i do not know what else i can afford.

The other part is should i go for appearance...Go for a Kaminari body kit and wing? or keep it stock looking. I want the tC to stand out so maybe just get a small flush drift wing with the engine mods?

Thanks guys. I would appreciate any imput.

Glad to be a part of the crew

umm, i think you should go with the injen cai instead of AEM and then get the strup header along with a full catback exhaust

pick one area at a time - do performance first if you really want to.

i agree with the intake. Injen i think is one of the better ones out there. it's what i have. strup is also a good header from what i've heard. the MMW one is good too. i currently have the Megan Racing header and s pipe and i'm satisfied with it but i'll be getting the MMW one before i get a s/c put on

like donscion said, try to focus on one area first.

i'd say get the bodykit and spoiler or whatever last. its better to spend money towards something that does something intead of just exterior looks. but thats just my opinion.

start w/ the header and then work towards the complete exhaust set up. you already have springs so its all good.

just dont forget the rasp you are gonna get with a header and a exhaust so you need a custom S pipe with a 30" resonator

save for a faster car/safe for turbo.... your wasting your money if you drop 800 on performance just to get 10whp IMO

i believe u ment to say custom MID pip with 30" resonator. the s-pipe doesnt really have room for a resonator

I have the header - Works Great . I am using AEM Cold Air Intake too. Contact me - I'll give you more specs of my set up. I'm using the DC Sports Axle Back too. I have a ARK Short Shifter. These short shortens the throw 30% or so. Works magically.

turbo this turbo that, he wants something quick and bolt on - go with bolt on parts for now and see how you like it - if you think its enough power, then no turbo needed and you can get your exterior game on - not everyone wants a turbo... btw i'm accepting donations for my turbo fund

Default well then

Hey guys, thanks for all the replys and help. I do appreciate it. I was thinking i would just go with intake and headers. So injen is the best to go with then? I will also look into the MMW and the DC headers as well. Of the two however i will go with intake first as it is the easiest and i am not that wonderful with car mechanics but would love to become affluent in this area.

I don't know if i want to go S/C or Turbo simply because i dont want to put that much strain on my engine when the car is this new. Its my first new car and i love it. Blue Blitz Mika

Does anyone know of any sites or part places in San diego? I have heard of Auto Anything here in SD but other than that i am not sure. I dont know if they carry Injen though...and the headers i have no idea...how to install them, where to buy...nothing. Bleh.

Anyways, thanks again guys. I do appreciate the help.

Injen it is then. Showstoppers is where i hear to buy it from. The RD version of the Intake. Is it hard to install at all? Again i am very competent just not with cars very much so =D

i would suggest to stay away from the AEM simply becuase it will msot likely be hte first to get carb approved so it will most likely be the most restrictive..

and as far as headers, they are all the same, DC, MR, AW, STRUP.. they are all 4-1 and will yield the same amount of horspower.. ive seen dyno results for all, they are all 1-4hp within each other.

the MMW header however is a 4-2-1 design and i believe that it is the BEST performance header out there, however the cost, and quality of it are what draws me away from it.. and the fact that they must have the WORST customer service evar.

i also have the same amount to spend.. relatively on my car and here is what i am doing/did:

-K&N Cold Air Intake(got it because it is the loudest intake on the market)
-Megan Racing Headers(200 dollars new... shiot cant be beat)
-Greddy Air Diversion Panel(Just for kicks.. looks good too)
-9005 to 9006 Sylvannia Silverstar Conversion(alot of night time driving)
-LED Gauge Cluster Conversion(it simply looks coo)
-Exterior LED Conversion(more brighter.. once again, i do alot of night driving)
-2.5" Midpipe, secondary cat delete, 30" resonator(i love polluting , and it will go good with my axleback)

hope that helps you.. its just what i am doing/did and my reasoning behind it so you know.

Default Ordered it today

Well then gents, i...kinda, ordered the Injen CAI today. Well, i had this hot girl at work order if for me b/c i didnt want to spend the money so i blame her. Although i did give her my credit card and account info...w/e! its coming soon hopefully before the weekend.

Im also getting my TC tinted for FREE! 20pct rears 35 fronts. It will be sick.

I dont need anything else besides what comes out of the box for the CAI install do i? aside from tools of course...I hear all these things about s pipes and resonators and all it does is make my head spin...i need to catch up.

Thanks again guys.

FYI you may not be getting your shifter for a long time. I was told by my dealership that TRD was bought out by Toyota Motorsports and since then all the parts numbers have changed. I ordered a TRD quick shifter in March and by June it still had not come in yet and they told me they didnt know when it was coming. So I put the money towards something else.

You should call your dealer and ask if they have a delivery date on the part and if they don't, I'd suggest putting the $355 towards something else. Unless you really want the shifter, you could try getting re-embursed(sp?) and call TRDSparks.com or McGeorgeparts.com to see if they have one in stock(their price will be MUCH cheaper than the dealer____ as well)
