Becasue you got a 6000k bulb. Be happy, cuz the blue/purple HID will get you pulled over in a quick heartbeat.

But when its straight up white, its 6k

Lol hey I just installed my 12ks too and yea, they aren't as purple as I thought they'd be. Kinda ultra-violetish but I heard that the hue changes into a deeper color after using them for a week or 2? Oh which brings me to my HID problem. My driver's side light won't turn on and I hear a loud buzzing noise coming from either the ballast or the bulb/ignitor? When I turn it on the bulb starts flickering like it's jussstt about to turn on then dies I tried switching the ballasts around and the ballasts are both fine. Could it be just the bulb that's defective or could it be the wiring? I moved the ground wire to different places and still got the same results

I got mine from operatic (GREAT customer service, highly recommended!) but yea, the color flickers deep purple when I first turn it on and then becomes white/ultra-violet. Real nice

You guys do know that the higher temp lights you get, you're also decreasing your light output, right? So you might get some nice pretty color, but you won't be able to see jack ____.

They'll get annoyed eventually. I bought 8k for a slight blue tint and sometimes I get annoyed with it. Most of the time I like it though.

Are you letting them warm up? I remember some guy posted a video of him turning on his lights. Its pretty cool watching them going from bright white to a really nice shade of purple. I forget how long it took but I think it took close to 3 minutes for them to be warm and have a really purple hue to them.

Actually 5K is straight up white. I know I have them The 6K's from the same maker I have looked at have a slight blue / purple to them... go to 8K and they are quite blue. 10K and past and they looked purple to me with a hint of white.
