My new rear bumper!!!!
Just came out of Pizza Hut to pick up my pizza and as I am waiting for the delivery car to leave so I could back up.... this is what happened....

His insurance is going to pay for it but just out of curiosity, how much do you guys think it would cost to fix this???

Yeah, at least 600.
I recently had someone bump into me in a parking lot. Left a small dent on my front bumper, and it is barely noticeable. I took it to 2 places to get estimates. They both quoted me right around 600. I wouldn't be surprised if yours is worth 800+.
Take it to a local body shop and get a free estimate.

No way $600. I just had a very similar repair done on my rear bumper (last week, actually) and it was $386. Of course, was really only $250 b/c of my insurance (bump and run, apparently).
Actually mine looks like it was even worse than that. The flat part was pinched so it had to be heated up and smoothed out before being filled/painted.

I think they might charge differently depending on whether or not you go through insurance.
Both places I went to asked if it was going to paid through insurance. I said no, because at the time the lady who hit me said she wanted to pay for it herself...then changed her mind.

^yup, they'll do that and charge a crap load so the insurance pays them more. That's the first thing a body shop here asked me. I'm not stupid...they quoted me $799 for a new front bumper painted Flint Mica!!! HAHAHAHA. I asked what's the $120 for installation parts? $350 for paint??? $200 for labor!!!
I turned around and walked out.

wonder if these guys are good? I'd pay that price, and so far their feedback is impressive:

Cost will depend on the area and the shop and even the insurance company as many shops give differant rates to differant companies.
I was rear ended last week and the shop quoted $780 to get it repaired,I just got the actual bill from the shop as I requested one for my records and they gave the insurance company a cut rate and charged them $520.........nice how they rape the customer but give discounts to insurance companies.
They quoted to repair the bumper for me and then turned around and replaced it.
These days it cost more to repair a part than to replace it.

Its always good to shop around. shops cant rip off insurance company because they now how much it is to reapair something. (maybe a few dollars) but when it comes to a regular joe they always try to boost up the price!
make sure that they take the bumper off to spray it. a lot of shops just tape around it and thats just ghetto. the clear cant set in the cracks and in 5 years from now you'll have some pealing.

I had two very minor scratches in my rear bumper that the tire shop caused when putting my studded tires in the back. The body shop charged $670 to fix it, although the tire place paid for it.
I work for a very reputable body shop here in the Nashville area, and for a rough estimate, it really depends on your states average body labor rates.
The dent itself is a 2-3 hour repair @ $38 per hour and the scratches on bottom another hour or so. R&I of the rear bumper cover, which is usually 1-2 hours. Paint material hours vary (around $50-100 for a bumper cover, we'll say $75 for good measure). Flex Additive for a plastic bumper, tint time for silvers are usually .5 of an hour @ $38 per, Hazardous Materials disposal fees vary as well (here in Tennessee it's $5).
You're looking at a minimum of $250, and a rough max of $500. Depends on the body shop. I'm currently at home and don't have the software for clarification, sorry.

Well, I got a check from his insurance to get it fixed but instead i'm gonna save up some more(ALOT MORE lol) and I'm gonna get the whole car repainted....
only problem is I don't know what color to paint it...
What color should i choose??? Throw some ideas at me... lol
I really like Deselstation's flat gray but I'm not gonna copy him

^^ that's gonna be expensive. The money you'll get from his insurence isn't even gonna be a mark in what you're gonna need to repaint the entire car.
I wouldn't do that ebay thing. a body shop quoted me 200 to paint the bumper and the bumper from the dealership is like 300. So it comes out to about the same, and atleast a body shop can try to paint match.
