Default My TC is 2 different colors, You?

Searched and can not find any info. My TC is nautical blue but the factory body kit and wing is almost purple. Its only when the car is clean and the sun hits it but it’s enough to bother me. I was just wondering if anyone else has this on their TC and if so what did the dealer tell you if you asked. The dealer told me that scion will not do any thing about it because the reason the body kit is different is because it’s plastic and the car is not. I have never seen other cars with a body kit without different color paint. I think the body kits and the car are painted at different times and that’s why the paint is different colors but if I’m right there must be others that got the body kit and have the same issue.

Does it have like glittery sparly thingies on the paint. If so, it might be an Indigo Ink Pearl color and not Nautical Blue like the body of your car.

The body is more shiny and blue and the kit is more dull and purplish. Yours is indigo right? it a purplish blue color.

In 2005, the blue was in fact indigo ink pearl-- 8p4
in 2006, the blue switched to nautical blue-- 8s6

im thinkin you have an 8s6 tC with an 8p4 lip kit.... there is no factory "body kit" , the only oem modification is the scion lip kit.

Yes, mine is Indigo but it's blue not purle. I would not even say it has purple hues. Sounds strange.

theres deff no purple to either 8s6 or 8p4, 8p4 was lighter and had more of a color diff on the angles

Mine is, so what would you say to the dealers explanation of the different materials causing the different colors I see. Its hard to tell from the picture but look where the front bumper comes to the fender right next to the headlight and you cane see the color difference.

I notice a slightly redish, near purple hue when my IIP is hit at the right angle by the light.. but it really isnt totally purple.. and definitely not a dull color at all. It comes from the pearl in the paint the reflections. Your dealer is wrong, the paint should match regardless.

i cant speak for your dealers explanation, i know i never tell my customers that, i was never told or trained that there was a purple flake or layering in the 8p4 paint process though.... never noticed purple in my 8p4 tC

Dig the bronze wheels. I always have on the IIP.

As mentioned, there is no purple flake that I know of on the IIP. The colors just come from the mixture of the light, the reflections and the pearl in the paint. I wonder if the parts on yours simply were coated with an "off" batch of paint?
