Default The (my) tC

Been looking around the site for a little while now and finally have enough done to the tC to post a few pics. The mega angle of the exhaust was my fault, the muffler I picked out was a little too big and in order for it not to be that angled I would've needed 2 90* bends. I opted for the slightly better flow. The muffler looks a little ricerish but sounds very good with no rasp or rattle. It's done in 2.5inch from the cat back and I only paid $200 total and I get it redone for free in 3 inch whenever I get a turbo.

Heres the pics;

Bluebat overlays everywhere. I also have the mirror ones but haven't had time to install. Thinking about painting the can black and leaving the tip polished... not sure if the paint will hold up?

Yea like I said I don't mind the exhaust because f what I paid. If I had bought it from a store for 600+ dollars and it came to me and I seen that angle on it i'd be pretty upset. For $200, I can live with it. Thanks for the opinions though. I do want a different muffler, something with a black or CF can so the angle isn't as obvious. Got to find a decently priced one.

Not diggin the exhaust, even for that cheap. BTW when taking pics make sure your interior is clean. Not to start something, just something to think about for future pics. Nie rims too. Duplicolor?

Funny thing about the interior being dirty.. I just vaccumed it a few days ago but where I work (and where i'm parked at my house) has those little pebbles that get tracked in with dust. Its a PITA to keep it neat. Just the mats are dirty though.

Yea it's duplicolor.

Would you say the exhaust would look better with a dark muffler? I'm not real worried about it now but I can find something with either a shorter can (louder, not really trying for that though) or a CF can so it's blended. Any thoughts on that? I've seen worse angle on STi's and a few Civics but those were probably by choice. We don't have a whole lot of room to work with on the tC's

are you kidding?? slanted exahuasts are cool looking.. and like you said practicality over looks, not that it matter too much. Slanted exhausts are very popular in japan and with japanese exhaust companies. I have one on my car and thats how I wanted it to look, although its not as slanted as yours...

Yea a few people told me slanted exhaust look good and mine looks cool but it's a little too angled. The picture I took basically shows it the most and is at kneeling position. Standing up, the exhaust is far enough back that you can only really see the tip exiting crooked.

I didn't know slanted exhausts were done purposely though. I always thought it was lack of room, and a big enough can to not sound like crap. I had the option of buying basically a short resonator with a crome tip that would've fit more properly but my car would've sounded horrible.

^^^ They are nice when they're angled for performance. But that's just too much. Difference in power would be very minimal (if any) to say and HKS. If anything the aftermarket would yield more because of R&D and still look beautifull. IMO this looks cheap and Ricey. You might use a small canister and just use a larger resonator (resinator?) to keep the db's down and the growl (beautifull as it may be) minimal.

how LONG is the exhaust on the car right now? Im thinking you need a canister about 15" or less to not have that much of a slant? You can find some nice HKS and others exhaust here...

yea, I mean slanted exhausts are there because of lack of room, so instead of making it look straight they figure it is better performance although probably not by too much... I guess its origins are in the performance field due to the less bends but its a little different I think it look good...

Not sure on the exact length but i'd say with tip it's near 20." What sucks is I got this whole deal for $200 and in order to get a more asthetically pleasing muffler it's going to cost me another 200+, lol. I think I might stick with this for awhile, let the shine wear a bit and get a little more dull, then see how obvious it is. If it's still bad i'll try painting the can before I cut it off and replace it. I think painting it will hide it quite a bit.

I don't think it looks BAD right now, moreso it looks like velocity_of_superwhite said, ricerish. Sucks that cheap performance has to be branded rice. The only thing that turns me off is what one of my friends said, and thats "The bend looks like one I seen on a civic hatch."

damn 20"! If you like it then i guess thats all that matters. But like your friends said, ive seen many of the riced out civics and whatnot around here with their exhaust might as well come out from behind the wheel? Just not my style i guess?

Thanks, the springs are Tien s-techs. Been on for only a couple hundred miles so i'd assume they might sag a bit more.

I measured the exaust, from the inlet (about an inch after the weld) to the end of the tip is about 18inches.

Yea it takes a little finesse on the speed bumps but it's nothing major. Have to put up one tire at a time on inclines also. I scrape every now and then on the tow hook under the front end, and also the plastic protection covers under there. I don't know how people do it with the s-tech's and a lipkit though. lol

I've been looking around on places to meet but can't find anything. Where do you guys usually meet up on like a weekly basis? Kind of tired of meeting up with just a misc group of cars to cruise with. Last time I went 50% of the cars were domestic brands and all they did was bash the other 50% of us through the walkie. lol

Teecizzle, them rims look good. I have been thinking about either giving them a few more coats or just going to something like black. I want 'em darker to match the windows, instead of matching the body but a few people said it looks stealthish with this color wheel. Don't know what i'm going to do yet.
