I hope it doesnt crack out. That would suck, you get it painted then 2 months later it starts cracking on the seams. I have seen it 1000 times.

That's fine that you're putting them on for yourself... (the 50 cent thing was a joke... "how we do" song from "the game). IMO, it's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on any car (except a lambo). BUT... if you like them, more power to you.

By the way... it's "jaw drops" ... not "draw". Jaw as in someone's mouth.

Yeah i know exactly what your talking about. I was very concerned about the "seam-less" look. Which is why I decided to not mold the front end. However after seeing the kit on a tC without the rear molded, i HAD to mold it. I just do not like the look of the rear unmolded. The substance their using is world class when it comes to strength. The guy doing my body work has a civic that had bottomed out. The seams in the bumpers held as did the side skirts, however, his rear quarter panels got smashed in. It ended up being more expensive and harder to replace, but all the seams held tight.

I appreciate all the compliments and criticisms guys, keep em coming!

Doesn't get much more queer than Lambo Doors, but the kit looks nice.

World Class when it comes to strength??

Looks like Epoxy and Fiberglass to me. Don't know about it being world class...

but if they were to do something light and strong, should have used a mix of epoxy, syntactic foam and carbon kevlar. Graph it 4-6 inches up into the body instead of molding.

Just my 2 cents and hope it's all worth it.

Check it out at a show, its not just epoxy and fiberglass.... Talk to them there. The side skirts and flares are as stiff as it gets. Those pics were one day after they started working on the car. They were from last thursday, its been one week.... They have done alot more since what u see in the pictures trust me. You can call me a liar all you want, but realize the cars been there 2 weeks and you guys saw 6 pictures... The car was not even 15% done in those pics.

Again as far as the doors, i love the look of them and i love the attention it brings. Different strokes for different folks, ill keep spending my money, my way

who's calling you a liar?

So if that's not fiberglass what is it?
I've worked with nearly every type of composite you can and cannot imagine.

I've been taught aeronautical and astronautical composits from Boeing and other manufacturer representatives while I worked on technical/ Creature/Character Special Effects for Film.

And those pics look like epoxy and fiberglass. Nothing wrong with that. It's pretty standard.

I am eagerly awaiting more pics and I admire what you're doing.

its not JUST fiberglass and epoxy. In the pictures it may appear and in fact yes is epoxy, but if thats all you think is holding it on, your crazy. Stiffener agents and other additives were added to give it the strength im talking about. thos molds should hold very VERY well.

explain this Rolling you did to install the doors..

and how much stress does it put on the body lifting the doors...?

is it hard to lift and bring down? does it open enough to get in and out? and does it open up then go up?

hey how do your doors hold up...Ive had them on for ajust a few weeks and they;'re looking fine. They did sag a little but thats only because the body shop had them open for a straight 2 weeks.

ive heard the damn doors are too heavy for vertical? They are pretty hard to lift and lower from the inside but nothing too overbearing. The hinges hold them up fine. In other words, too heavy for the struts, no... Too heavy for the person to open, yes if you cant lift 40 lbs with one arms, but u can always use two.

did you install a vertical door kit? was it hard to install? Yes. NO. Took me and a friend 5 hours, but thats only because you have to color match and sauder 44 wires in the door s that need cut and extended.

and is it hard to get in and out of the car? Super easy to get in and out of with plenty of room. They open to the half way mark then go up. If u dont feel like lifting the doors, you dont have to and theirs still rrom to get in and out.

any signs of damage to the body because of the doors? None at all since i cut out the fender guts. If you leave that in, it can cause some stress.

Please. I love how there are so many ppl so quick to complain. Why does everyone HAVE to be right. Why does everyone need to cut the other guy down. Ih8civix is trying something new, and everyone says you are doing it wrong. Why don’t you post a link to your step by step tutorial on how to do it right then. Add some pix of your car done the right way. If you can’t back it up, don’t even bother. All this "that looks stupid" BS just takes up bandwidth, slows down the server, and honestly, who the Fuxe cares what you think, he likes it, it’s not your money, you aren’t ever gunna get a chance to drive it, so stfu. Back off, and save the energy for your downshift.

Constructive feedback is different. And there is a way to go about it, it’s called etiquette, and there IS such a thing.

And Ill be looking for you and your car up in SC. That is the weekend I go home to pick up my XB 2.0 in State College. Where is the show at? Nittany Mall? lmk

The show is Modified Madness at the Bryce Jordan Center.

I honestly dont mind or care about the "verticle doors are ___, are queer, are stupid, etc.etc.etc" Its their opinion and id prolly not like alot of things on their cars. But what bothers me is the people that try and argue about whats on my car like they know all about it. Im paying the money to have it done right by guys i trust, so im gonna stick up for them 110% I do appreciate the criticism as much as the compliments but theres a difference between "i think you should have" and "that is ugly as ____"... I show the respect i expect. Its no wonder i spend more time on boards like Clubsciontc.com - Their members have respect and maturity.

everyone has their own style, opinion, and taste.
thats why everyone's car is unique.

if u like lambo doors and more bondo than metal on ur car.
than go for it.. don't whine because not everyone likes ur car.
no matter how "nice" or badass ur car is or will be.
it will never ever statisfy everyone..

i personally fix up my ____ty ___ car for myself.. i dont care
what people think. if they think its nasty, then oh well.

i dig clean cars. with nice parts. i dig quality over quantity.
thats just me. just understand that people all over the internet
will like and not like certain things

I could have sworn that atleast 3 times in this thread i said... Im building this car for myself, i dont care what u think cause im building it the way i want. I could have sworn atleast 3 times i said i like the criticism. All i said was that there are other ways to say things. There are ALOT of _______s on this site. I dont need people telling me ____ about my car when they dont even ____ing know me. I dont care if you hate my car, ok, so keep it to yourself. But if theres something u think wold look better, then go for it, id love to hear it. This industry is filled with tons of haters, i thought maybe a "SCION" board would be a place to find a "partnership" of sorts...

if u didn't care about what people think,
why post up pix online?

why do u expect or "demand" people to keep
it to themselves if they dont like your car?
so u only wanna see a bunch of ___ kissing and dick sucking
on this post? lol
im not saying i hate or love anything, i just find it amusing

hahah so if i knew u.. its a different story??
so i can tell u that some china made hinges
on any car is just retarded?
i think most of the crowd(normal people) see a car with lambo
styled doors just laugh cuz they know its just a lambo knockoff.
im not saying it to say it. im saying it cuz i see it first hand.
i see some guy roll up with scissor doors.. walking out like he thinks
hes the man.. and i hear people just whispering laughter all around..
"oh my god, i can't believe he made his doors like that.."
i hope thats constructive enough for u.

Apperantly you cant read the posts directly above this one that all clearly state i like the criticism but dont like people telling me whats on my car. ie the "only thing thats on there is epoxy and fiberglass, thats not world class." I could give to ____s if people like it or not, but when im looking for comments about i like it, i dont like it. etc, im not looking for "your doors look ___" or "hey are you 50 cent?" theres a difference that i guess your just blind to see. If you posted a picture and said "thoughts??" you would want people to say, i dont like the doors, but i do like this or that... not, your car is ugly as ____, take that off and put this on... Know what im sayin or do u still wanna be a post ***** about this? frankly im done, Im happy with my car and happy with everyone elses topic related comments

hey props to you ih8civx. I personally love the lambo doors and the kit. I wanna get lambo doors on my ride too but im saving up for rims now. Are you gunna paint the kit flint mica or are you gunna repaint the whole car a different color. I really want to see the finished product. Keep up the good work and dont listen to what nyone else says your ride is gunna be sick.
