Default need help ...rear fender dented

today i came out of school walked to my car to find a dent on my right rear fender right in front of the tail light its about 6 inches in diameter then i realize out rear fender is huge and is practically the whole side panel...so i need help on how to fix it...here are my choices..
1. tell insurance pay $500 deductable and insurance may go up but they fix it
2. go have a shop fix and repaint it they estimated a lot of money around $800 because the whole fender whould need to be stripped repaired then repainted
3.find an aftermarket rear fender which i cannot find except maybe one of the wide body ones
4.have one of you help me find a solution lol
..someone please help

its dented AND scratched? or just dented? if "just" dented, i would say give the "ding king" a try. a friend of mine used it and it worked pretty well.

btw, where in NY are you?

If you've got an estimate for around $800, I'd go with just repairing it through the shop as long as it's a reputable one. If you filed an insurance claim, you would be paying $500 anyways. The possible increase in your insurance rates isn't worth it IMO.

As for aftermarket, you're not going to find an aftermarket quarter panel for the car, and even if there was one, it probably wouldn't be cost effective vs. repairing it.

Try to pop the dent with ding king or pop-a-dent. Do the paint crack, wetsand with 2000 or 3000 grit sandpaper. The put some touch up paint evenly throughout the scratch, and wetsand again to a shine. Iono, that's what I would try. If it doesn't work, try to find another body shop to fix it for you for a cheaper price.

I'd take it to a PDR guy, have him pull the dent for about $100 - $150 (they can pull a dent even if it's on a style line), then either use revinnova's suggestion to wetsand the cracked paint and touch it up if it's only an inch, or take it to a body shop to do the paint for much less than the overall cost of it all.
