so i bought the retrofit headlights off extc and now its all installed but my headlights wont turn on , is it because i dont have a relay harness to draw power from my battery or d2s harness?!?!?! i even got a test ballast from au2tek to test it out but it still wont turn on i dont get what the problem is its not the fuse checked that nothing broken and i didnt miss any plugs !! can anyone help me? i thought hids dont really need a relay to even use it!

 

check the fuses 1st. what do you have to get power from, is it just wired into the low beam sockets? If so you need to get a relay and this is what mine looks like.


Yellow and Black wires to ballast, red and black to battery and blue to low beam.

if you can, bench test your ballast to make sure you didnt reverse polarity your ballast. What ballast do you have anyways?

Yep. I retroed that. What ballast do you have? Try taking the bulbs out and test them with the ballast. Make sure you plug the stock 9006 socket to the ballast correctly , - to - and + to +.

 

i got the ballast he used the mcculloch and i have another one to test and they are GHC by au2tek both dont work

 

I can't really tell unless you post your pics of your setup bud. Also, make sure you test both bulbs and see if it is the bulbs. If the second bulb doesn't work, then most likely it is the setting or that one ballast.

 

I advised him to get the harness the first time he told me the retro would not ignite. Most tc's cant even power up HID ballast without a fuse and relay harness.
