Hello,

I've a '08 tC, and I really want to get rid of the stock grille.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the difference between the FIG grille and customtc.com's grille kit located at http://customtc.com/grille.htm? They appear to look the same, they're not overlays, and drilling and nylon ties are involved for the attachment process. Customtc.com's is also cheaper, they offer free shipping, and don't rely on ebay.

What's the catch, if any?

Also, according to http://figgrille.notlong.com/ , when one scrolls down to the "Years" row, it states the FIG grille is only for 2004-2007 tCs.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

 

Hmmm, I got my Figure grille a while ago, but that grille from customtc.com looks exactly the same to me. Not sure if there is any difference. I don't think so. You should ask Fig about this, because I know the Fig grilles came first.

i think the figs look a hell of a lot cleaner that the other one

 

get a cheap one off of ebay its just a grill after all

I'm not a huge fan of the fig grills. IMO, they look like something you could make out of gutter guard, and you are gonna pay $100 for that?! VRD FTW

 

I think I'd go with the VRD for the simplicity of an OEM fit with no drilling and zip ties.

 

VRD too, im gettin those soon the fig grills are nice and all but i need a change, i've had the Figs for a while now

something came up and im stuck with the tC untill im able to get into the VW. as for now im not modding the tC infact im trying to turn it back to stock, but i gotta crunch numbers and insurance stuff to see if the VW works wiht me

im workin on it haha
