OEM Fog light replacement!
Hey could anyone help me out and point me in the right direction to get some replacement OEM Fog lights. I just need the foglight housings. Not the grill wires or button. just the glass housings. Went to my dealer today and they told me 164.50 per side. w/out tax. I then looked at the screen in the parts dept and saw that it said 198 w/ tax. I find this to be either hard to believe. or an outright rip off. I remember a thread around here before about someone just picking up 1 fog light due to a rock hitting the original. Any help greatly appreciated. Im willing to order it from any scion dealership. Thanks in advance.

actually.. not sure about that.. believe the thread was more a complaint that the dealerships can't sell parts but need to sell the whole set..

you don't need to order a whole new foglight set, take it to a good honest body shop. when my front end got side swipted, they just replaced the one foglight on the driver side. literally, you just can't trust a dealership to do anything for you without bending you over a table.
They can sell them.. toyota even lists them (at $97 according to scion customer care about a year ago.) I went through this twice. Got the first one for $97 at the dealer. A year later, when the same one broke, they wanted $180 a peice. According to Scion Customer care, the price hasnt gone up.. the dealers just mark them up 100% or more. Screw the dealer, go to McGeorges or salvage. I found ONE on car-part.com nation wide, and the salvage then realized that they were missing it. So I got my last one from Mcgeorges for about $130 I believe.
You dont need a body shop either, anyone with hands can replace one. If you dont have really skinny hands and arms it may be easier for you if you remove the splash gaurd and do it from underneath. But, if you can wiggle your hand in from the top you may be able to do it that way. I do it from underneath, takes about 15 minutes or so. They snap in. Just make sure to get the correct side when you order.
