Hi, I was wondering if you guys have any tips on installing the ground effects front lip?

I don't need step by step instructions I just want to know what I should pay attention to and look out for.

umm measure twice, cut once.

 

If u have oem bumper there should be a guide on the inside where to cut it....

 

take bumper off

look for cutout marks on the back. should look like rounded off rectangles. DO NOT CUT THEM ANY BIGGER THAN WHAT THEY OUTLINE.

(no brainer but just in case) put gaskets on the lip before installing

do this with a friend, or do what i do and get daddy to assist you

 

It's not hard, I did it with a friend in a couple of hours and I'd never used a router or taken my bumper off before. Make sure you cut the holes exactly to size. I cut them a little too small and had problems getting some of the clips through. Also make sure you get the middle part with the tape stuck all the way back by the grill because you can't move it once it's stuck.

 

theres markings inside that should say. but make sure you know what each one says before doing it

I got the lip installed.

Kinda weak how you have to machine those huge slots into the bumper. It's gonna look terrible if I ever decide to take off the lip.

Also I wasn't able to get my apt fogs to fit in the bumper with the new lip but I found out I need to do some trimming on the lip to get them to fit.

 

You have to use your muscles to get them in. I got mine in fine.

 

I've been trying that method the only result is a scratched up lip.

 

You could place blue tape on the lip so when you push it in the tape will protect the lip. It is do able...several people have done it including me.

 

Is there a technique for it?

I've tried pushing them on for a good 10 mins and i am not a weak guy.

 

I just shoved it in. Maybe your scared of breaking it so you are not pushing hard enough? When I shoved it in one of the clips from the back popped off, but i just put it back on after it was in.
