it really depends on the quality of the paint/er. I'd say around $200 for a cheap paint booth and anwhere from 500-700 for a good paintjob.

Why not check out your dealership's bodyshop? I actually had my hood painted a while back while I was having some work done, and they charged me 160 for it. They might cut you a deal as well.

Just talk it up like you'll be coming back to them again for more work.

And if they do good work, do.

Report back with what you find out. I am thinking about respraying my whole car since the paint job sucks really bad, and then have the thing clear bra'd. I'd also be buying the kit and having it painted at the same time.

The first place I called, said they don't do masking, they remove all windows and molding etc, said 5k. I got a little turned off by that price and havent called around much since.

I would stay away from any paint shop that said they didn't do any masking.

The most important thing when painting a car is surface prep. Even if the panels are straight and the car is pretty new, it takes a lot of labor to remove the trim, remove dirt & wax, sand off the clearcoat, fill the dings & scratches, degrease the surface, then paint (then sand and paint and sand and paint...). Plus, a quality paint will run $300 or more to cover a car.

If you get an Earl Schieb $99.99 special, there is no prep, and the paint will look like crap and not last long. The only way to do it cheap and good is borrow a good spray gun and do it yourself. 2x4s and a mess of plastic film will make a quick and dirty spray booth. Oh, and it helps to have a POS car you can use to practice on. (Hey grandpa, can I borrow your '88 civic for a few days? )

Where are you located? If you need a paint job. I got a guy that paints around $600-800 for the whole car any color. It's a very good job as well. i have pictures if you want to see. hope this helps.. He's in southern california LA county.

I know this is slightly off topic but if you haven't bought the kit yet you could save some money on buying it. I have a flint mica front lip for sale brand new and never opened. never ended up using it. I'm willing to let it go for 350 shipped. If you need it let me know.
