I was lead to believe that the resealing could be a bit tricky.

But I figured that with a little attention to detail ... it would go smooth

It can be trick for some people. I guess I got lucky. Mine sealed back u p with no problems at all...and I just re-used the sealant that was already there.

Nope. When putting them back together you've gotta use the oven. I went through several cycles of heating and squeezing when putting mine back together.

 

yea, there is plenty of residual sealant left over. You shouldnt need any extra silicone, although some may tell you that you do. if you're patient, persistent, and careful everything should go smoothly.

 

beginning to sound a like there a bit more to it then just "ummm do it"

I'm not scared though.


New question:

Most comfortable, smoothest coilover/ lowered suspension .... gotta have a nice smooth ride

haha, those two dont go hand in hand. kind of an oxy-moron. it will be a lesser-of-the-evils type thing with coilovers.

 

Yeah, it seems like it. I was wary of getting in there but one day I just said f it and went to town. The whole process is really straight foreward and once you're done you feel like "heck, that wasn't so bad." Again, just follow Hollywood's write up and pay attention to your lights while they're in the oven.

I am going to replace my suspension at 60k with coilovers ......

but is has to function well. I drive a lot and living in new england it has to be a nice ride.

any suggestions?

I havent heard of a "smooth" coilover set-up. Are you dropped now? I would suggest lowering springs and new struts if you want a "smoother ride". Not that springs are smooth either.
