Default Opening 08 tails

I want to open my 08 taillights to paint the inside, I know that one has to cut the 05-07 tails to get to the inside, is the same true for the new tails?

cause the tail lights werent made to take that much heat like the head lights do. they might melt or something ruther, at least to my best understanding. the headlights are made to withstand the high heat because of the headlamps in them, where as the tails arent as bright and dont give off as much heat.

yeah what I want to do is smoke out just the red portion to keep the chrome rings, however I don't think I'm up for cutting especially since the outer lens is clear and thus it would be east to see the seam where I had to reseal the cut :-(

actually it's how the headlights vs. the taillights are sealed..

the headlights you can bake because the gray seal around it can melt, thus bake.. seal melts into goo.. and you can take it apart..

taillights? the plastic is welded together... totally different..

Yup. Cutting the tail lights open isn't exactly a pleasant experience.
