Default Opinion: Celica OE wing on tC?

What think you all of getting the Celica's OEM wing onto the tC?

The Celica's wing is pretty straight and rounds off at the ends. In my opinion, it looks far better than the pedestal wing offered by Scion. The optional wing from Scion is too sharp for the gentle curve on the sides of the tC. The wing certainly could match the crease line on the tC but after that, I feel there is almost no relationship between the lines of the pedestal wing and the lines of the car.

That is why I propose the Celica's wing. It's rounded off at the edges, as I said, but does have a definite point where the wing curves downward. Those characteristics, I feel, fits the tC far better.

In fact, I saw a Celica with the tC's optional spoiler and it looked very good. The Celica's hard chiesled body goes with the hard lines of the spoiler. Could it be then that the Celica's wing looks better on the tC?

What I fear mostly is that the forward jut of the edges of the Celica's wing will detract from the illusional length of the car. Seen from the side, the very tips of the wing may blend into the rear hatch window (although I don't think so) and make the tC's hatch look even shorter than it looks now. Wings like the Viniati V style wing or the TRF wing both extend the lines of the car while the Celica's wing may subtract from it.

That said, Viniati has a different wing that is similar to the Celica's wing. The difference is that it is angled a little more downward and is shorter in width (front to back not tip to tip.) I don't think the Viniati wing looks too bad but I don't love it. I would imagine the better sitting stance of the Celica's wing would be a better choice of application.

What think you?

Can't conceptualize?

I tried photoshopping but I couldn't get the right pictures. If anyone could, please photoshop the wing and the tC.

That's what I got when I searched for pictures of the Celica.

Are you talking about the big wing that comes with the Action Package (is that what it's called?) or is there a smaller one? Wait, like this?

that person should be slapped... what the hell was he thinking, the car looks hideous. i think that the celica spoiler, the stock 01 spoiler would look nice but most likely wouldnt fit.

Roundness of the tC? The pedestal spoiler is far more squared off than the Celica's OEM spoiler.

I'm NOT talking about the action package one.

This one:

It's rounded a little more to the tune of the tC.

Personally, i don't think it would flow right with the rest of the body lines.

Then again, i haven't seen a spoiler on the tC that doesn't make it look cheap and out of place. Just me though.

eh, i can already tell with five minute photoshop it just wouldn't look right. But, if you do decide to go for it just make sure you are happy with it.

That's the problem isn't it.. I just gotta make sure I will be happy with it :D

I think it looks alright. I think I'll do it ......... one day.

I think my concerns about the wing making the already stubby end look even more stubby is ill-founded as the car really is a hatchback. By making the 'trunk' appear stubbier, it'll only look like more of a hatchback which I think looks alright.

Does anyone notice that tC looks as if it's missing the rear sunroof?
