Default our not so pretty front end..!!

is it just me... or does anyone else think that our tc's front end do not look that great.... Now.. before you go ape.. i did not say that the front was ugly... just not good looking..

i look at the tc.. and profile wise.. it's a beatiful car.. with it's lines... it could easily be mistaken for a euro sports car.. the rear end is more than exceptable.. BUT damn.. when you look at the TC directly from the front.. and a few degrees from there... it SCREAMS... GENERIC ASIAN IMPORT!!!!!!!!!!!...... i know.. i know.. that is why there are people coming out with different style fronts.... My problem with these.. and i have seen some nices one... is that they are wannabees....

for example.. the M3 front end... that is a very nice front end.. and you can tell that alot of work was put into it.. but we do not drive BMW's.. nor do i want to pretend to drive one.. i just saw another front from street concept... but that to me screams a riced out civic... you want to see an agressive but original front.. go the the saturn website and look at the SKY...

now before the flame starts flying... this is just my opinion.. like anything else the way something looks is very subjective.. AND..

opinion are like _______s... everyone has one...

I love the front of the tC. Most cars look like they are smiling at you, but the tC dosen't. I am going to agree with you about the front end of the SKY though. I love it.

To me, the front end is what sold me on the car. It's the scrawny rear that made me think about it.

I miss my old front end, with the OEM lip kit and Fogs... I have a body kit now (Kaminari), but that lip kit just made the car look like a nice simple car.

Well, I wasnt looking for a car when I saw the tC (and bought it two days later), so I wouldnt have even considered it if I thought the front did not look nice. That is one of my favorite parts, no generic "sports car" pointy front end. And this is just my opinion.. but I dont like body kits. To me they take away from the looks of the car, if I had wanted a different body style I would have bought a different car. Also, on a daily driver I have never seen a kit that did not look floppy and cheap after a year or less. Not bashing the people with a kit, just my preference.

Well thats cause the M3 is a $50,000.00-$60,000.00 car so of course they are gonna pay as much detail to everything as possible and try not to skip out on anything...if the tC was that much im pretty sure it would be more detailed....but the front end is not tooo bad IMHO.

i love the front end, but the back is a different story. I almost didnt buy it ccuz the back. Maybe you just dont like the front cuz its not lowered. After you lower the car imo the front looks a lot more agressive.

Love the front end too. Dare I say, it looks Euro and not generic Asian as the Nissans, Mitsus, Acuras and Hondas do, all pointy, chromey and "Manga" looking.
The weak part on the car IMO, is the rear end The rear lights look OK, but the center brake light looks lost and the center panel liscense plate insert just breaks up the lines on the back.
A strong styling point is the low arcing roof line. I saw another tC while driving on the highway today, and I got reminded of how muscular the car looks with the low hunkered down look it has.
Many people I show my car to cannot believe that the car dos not cost over 30K! from what they see on the outside.
Bravo Scion!

i like the front and back ends of the tC. to me if the front and back ends are what I look at most in a car. if I think one end looks ugly then I prolly dont like the car.
the back end has the most impact on me because thats what most people will be looking at.

I HATE cars with ugly behinds... [cough]cadillac, cobalt, monte carlo[/cough]

actually.. mines lowered on TRD springs and has the ground affects.. having both in my opinion just marginally improves the " frontend's " look..

what i mean by generic.. is try putting the TC in a line up.. remove the scion badge get to like maybe 10 car lengths and try to pick the tc among the other toyotas and honda's.. i have tried doing that while i drive.. meaning i look in the rear view mirror after passing another TC.. and try to pick it out and it just blends in with every other car.. i can pick out a vette.. a porsche.. a VW, audi (although admitedly the VW and audi's are looking alot alike now).. and even a mazda pretty easily.. they have very distintive looks .. but the tc just blends in with the tercels and civics..

i know im going to get blasted for that last line....

again.. im not saying that it is an ugly front end.. just that there is nothing in my opinion that really makes it stand out.. unlike it's profile..

As far as the Mercedes listed above... you are not paying $50,000 for that cool styling.. you are paying about $25,000 for that MErcedes emblem.. the same goes for most "Luxury" cars. They add $5000 worth of extra touches and charge you $25000. There are many reasons for this, one being psycological. You know one of the most important parts of selling expensive cars to richer people in most cases? Raise the price of the car! If BMW dropped the price of all their cars by $20,000, I can gaurantee that about 50% of thier customer base would stop buying them. It is a status thing for a lot of people (dumb as **** to me.. but that is how many people are). Now dont get me wrong.. you are getting a lot of nice things on those expensive cars... but dont think you are getting your money's worth in the least. Check out some of the new comparisons happening. The 06 Vette vs the 06 911 is a good example.. the Porche overall performed barely better than the Vette, was a little nicer to ride in.. but costs around $20,000 more. But look at the market for each and it makes more sense.

As far as some of the other comparisons... you cant say that Mazda sticks out (other than the and the tC doesnt... a Mazda 3 is so close in body lines to a tC they blend together from a distance. The tercels and the civics look worlds different from a tC in my opinion. Everyone I know compares it to the VW/Audi/Mazda group from the front or back. But no matter what it looks like.. I love everything about the body.

I love the front end. The only change I would make is removing the fake corner vents and replacing it with the same type of grill material that is already on the car. I hate trying to clean bugs out of the fake plastic air inlets.

The front end is cool from my view, but I really think I need the OEM Ground Effects to really realize the car's full potential. The front is a little too round, kind of submitting itself down to the tires from a side view. The lip which I will one day be able to afford will really square it off and give it some attitude.
