overlays install
i just got my bluebatmobile superaggresive eyelids from the mail.. this is my second pair i messed up the first ones.. i have no patience with cosmetics.. where can i get this installed? autotrendnz in kendall park nj does it for 60bucks which is complete BS!.. lol.. anyone from central jersey willing to install is for a couple bucks? thanks
yeah if u dip them in warm soapy water and spray the head light with the soapy water too, u will actually be able to stick them on the headlights and move them around. Once u have them where u want them then just take a credit card in a t shirt and squeegy out the bubbles. simpele as that.
Ill help you out.
You will need:
-large bowl of soapy water
-hair dryer
-small flexible paint spatula or credit card
-soft microfiber or similar cloth
First remove the backing from the overlay and run the eyelid through the suds and soapy water. Make sure the vinyl is thoroughly wet. take some suds from the bowl and wet the area you will be applying the vinyl to.
With both surfaces wet, you will be able to slide the overlay back and forth until you get it into the right position. If it begins to get sticky again, apply more soapy water. also spray detailer works just as well, but I dont like to waste it.
After you placed the eyelid in the desired position, its time to use the credit card & cloth. Wrap the card in the cloth and squeegee over the vinyl and push the remaining bubbles out. Make sure to hold the overlay in place, as it hasnt completely dried yet and can still move around.
Now take that hairdryer and nuke that sucker!!! Heating up the vinyl makes it contract and shrink, adhering it to the surface. I'd give the eyelids an hour or so to completely dry and stick to the headlights before you drive.
I've had a b-pillar overlay fly off on me because I didnt wait long enough...
Hope that helps!
