Default Paint Antenna?

Okay, forgive me in advance because this could be a completely stupid question, but I'm curious! I am swapping my stock antenna with an s2K and thought "Gee, that might look cooler in sliver with my Azure Pearl, than black. What if I painted it a matte silver?"

I know, I know... Why wouldn't you just buy a silver antenna? If I knew where to find an s2K silver, I would! Does anyone know (or think) that paint would ruin reception quality? These things are so cheap that I can just grab another one if I ruin the first!

Thanks,
Jessica

the only problem I could see with it is the paint cracking due to the antenna flexing. I mean, it's only rubber.

like you said though, you can find them for $15 (or off of your friendly local S2000 *whistles*)

It shouldn't really hurt it, but why do it? unless your going to paint the base to match I don't think it would look good. But if your like it do it..

I didn't even think about the base still being black... Thanks for bringing that up, Kaeon! I will see how it looks. I love how cheap these things are!

I am thinking I will keep it black since the aforementioned black base issue was brought to my attention. I am going to see how easy it will be to take the base off and how cheap a replacement is. If it's not too steep, I might paint it all silver! I will post pics if I do - promise!

I say "do it". You will never know until you try. But then I think about it and PS probably would be best because I don't know how expensive those bases are. Good luck!

You would have to take some of the trunk interior out in order to get to it from the back id assume...
