Default Paint doesnt match... [updated w/ pics]

Ok. So i just got my rear bumper repainted after someone scraped it and for some reason the repainted portion seems to have a bit of a dark tint.

Do you guys think the color doesn't match because its still not fully cured?

Should i leave it outside and hope the sun bleaches the paint a bit?

or should i just take it back to the guy and have him redo his work?

Thanks.

mostly it doesnt match bc it was a ____ty mixer...

you should see how bad my front bumper is...

if anything, bring it back and complain about it... its gonna be tough having the same exact match but at least have them try to blend the paint

It sucks too because he only had to repaint half of the rear bumper and the other half is the original color.

Also while the guy was repainting it im guessing he wasnt careful enough and ended up getting a bit of primer or something on the surrounding panels. Would this come off with a clay bar?

Thanks for ur replies

It's probably that your paint faded, and the guy that did it can't mix the right color to match the faded painted.

sounds to me like they did a ____ty job with prep work as well

i hope you didnt take it to a cheap quick-fix garage

have it done at a well known place that guarantees their work

ive never heard of half of anything being painted on a car, they should have done the whole bumper

I took it to this guy at my toyota dealer.

He subcontracts for them and fixes up used cars for resale.

Haha. Man they better fix that. I hate the darn plastic bumpers. Apparently I can't get the same metallic blackpaint on my bumpers to match very well with the rest of the car because the bumpers are plastic and not metal. It bugs the crap out of me too.

Take it back and say fix it! SW isn't peachy to match but thats way off! Thats gray not white. SW is a mix of white, black, and yellow. You can see theres a whole lot of blue there...

Also tell them to wetsand and buff. The reflection of the sky and the trees. You can see in the transaction the orange peel look. Stock paint has orange peel but usually when you get a car back from the shop the repainted panels are so posed to look better than stock.

Other then that do you have pics of your whole car? SW always look sharp.

It's not SW. He has an RS3, so it's Blizzard Pearl.
