Default Paint job on the tC

So i've read countless threads about the weak paint job these cars have. I dont care if its the paint job itself or just to thin of a clear coat, I just wanna know, whats the best way to remedy this before it even becomes an issue. A few members have mentioned something about a do it yourself clear coat system theyve gotten from various auto stores and others mentioned a new clear coat job altogether by a body shop.
Maybe we can condence these suggestions so future owners and even current owners, can take advantage of it.
I think it would be more constructive to focus now on the solution instead of pointing fingers at whos to blame for the problem. That can be decided in a court room.
Anyways...Its to late for me to call a body shop here and I was wondering about how much it would cost to get a clear coat job done (average)
or...what are some other tried and true suggestions for this problem
Please...if you dont have a real suggestion and youre just looking to debate, dont post.
Noones going to stop you, but i'm trying to be as productive as possible with this potential problem

nice...thanks for the help. I checked out 3M's website as well as an independant review of the clear coat bra and needless to say, i'll be setting up an appointment with a local shop that is trained and certified in 3M applications such as this, as pertaining to auto detailing.
This thing is gauranteed for atleast 5 years, anf maybe even longer if its cared for properly during the duration. Thats awesome

Once again, I'm bringing a group buy out for a 3m clearbra 1/2 price.

Toyota is not going to paint everyone's vehicle. We just have thin paint.

The day that Toyota/Scion will repaint all the tCs, it will also be a blizzard in Mexico. Not going to happen. Do what you have to do and don't rely on Toyota to remedy. So far this car is no better/no worse than any of my other vehicles. I would not get the regular bra as that will damage/rub the paint. The 3M solution, though expensive, appears to be the best way to go.

You're brining it eventually or are you already offering?

A group buy is when a vendor or shop will offer a special price on a product for a particular group.

Not really b/c while you would be responbile for finding the person to put it on you can buy it probably cheaper through a GB then take it to the place to get it put on and just pay for labor.

Most places that are 3M certified wont honor the 5 year warranty on the bra if you buy it elsewhere

You have a shop thats 3M licensed and certified that will honor the warranty on a 3M product you bought elsewhere?

Yup, as long as it's a 3M product they will honor the warranty. They figure it's best to get some business for labor then to get none at all.
