I've been looking into getting a tC, and the only thing really holding me back is the issue of paint quality.

Honestly, how many of you have had this problem? It's really disappointing, as I love everything else about the car. Is it worth buying?

Also, what can I do (besides keeping up on washing/waxing, trying not to drive it on rough roads) to bring the paint up to "normal" quality, and how much more would it cost?

Im not going to lie to you, its not the best paint in the world, but its far from being an issue.
If thats the only thing thats holding you back, then i say hurry up and buy it

 

If it really bothers you that much save up and have it painted or extra clear coated

 

I don't drive on the highway that much, so I only notice little chips on the lip kit in the wheel wells. It ____es me off. I just throw some touch up paint on it, but I have a little idea on how I'm going to protect the lips.

 

I never had ANY Paint problems....have had mine for a Year and a Half....Just a few chips....

I clean n dust off my car Daily!....Do a FULL exterior clean once a weeek!!!!
