Please help me with decision

I am thinking if I should buy used bumper that is painted silver already
If i go to body shop and repaint it to black, does it cost more to repaint than paint the unpainted new bumper?
is there any disadvantage to paint black over previous silver paint?
or should i just pay like 150 more and get new bumper?

if its a good body shop they will sand the bumper first then primer it then paint.

so yes it will cost more than if you have just a regular primered bumper because they have to sand the bumper you brought which takes alot of work. kinda.

but ya, a BRAND NEW primped bumper shouldnt need anything but paint.

if your getting that silver kaminari front bumper, then i know what your talking about.

but there is another guy selling the full kit unpainted for 1k, i would rather get that.

then just wait until you can afford to get everything, thats what i have learned.

my last tC was all fixed up or what not, but i bought parts whenever i could and didnt care about brands or what not. with this tC, i am saving up so that i can get the parts i want, doesnt matter if they come now, or three months from now, i will still get them.

all in all, wait until you can afford the whole kit, it will look like crap with just the front bumper, why do you think the guy is selling it? he had it for all of 3 weeks. i know this because it was sold on a local forum, and i saw when it went on sale, to when it was sold, to when it went on sale again.

 

ah.. yea i am worried about it too but if it doesnt look good, i will try to get complete kit but i need bumper right now because i got into accident ....
