Default Painting Calipers?

Looking to paint my calipers but not sure how the breaks are to get on and off. Are they relatively easy an should I be able to do it and get them off and painted and back on fairly quick and easy? Worked on cars for about 2 years now but never really messed with the breaks.. Thanks guys.

you never changed brake pads before?
you can paint cailpers without removing them, which I think is lazy. LOL. Search "painting brake calipers" on Youtube and you'll find several videos on this.

Super easy with not fully taking them off. Just need a few plastic bags to cover the rotor and anything else you don't want overspray on. The calipers come off pretty easily with the exposed bolts. There is probably a DIY on here. Or check for a DIY for changing brake pads. They would be similar.

Yes brakes are very easy and straight forward in taking off. The easiest way to do it is to completely take off the brake and even disconnect the brake line. But before disconnecting the brake line use some locking pliers or vice grips and GENTLY crimp the line shut and then remove the bongo bolt holding it to the brake. And yes, there is a specific paint used to paint calipers and it needs to be used. Its a higher temp paint to withstand the heat brakes create. Your local Carquest, NAPA, O'Reilly's, ect. should have it. Or search online and I'm sure you will find a wide variety of colors if you want something other than black or red. But, as stated above, make sure to watch a few "how to" videos on brake removal before diving in. Because if you use the method of completely disconnecting the brakes including the brake line you will need to bleed the brakes after its all back together, its not difficult by any means but there are a few precautions to take when bleed brakes as to not get air in the lines. Hope this helps.
