people with 20% tint...
I would like to stop being a biatch over this but I keep asking myself "what if I get caught?"
If I get caught, I get a ticket, waste money on tint, and insurance goes up because of ticket.
Of course I want to get 20% tint all around (except for windshield) on my tC real badly. This would look 10x better than just the 35% limit. But then there's the law to deal with.
I live in NorthEastern Mass. and I just moved here so I don't know much about the police and how strict they are.
So to those of you with 20% tint, have you ever been pulled over for it and how bad was it if you did?

Go with your gut feeling and get the 20% would ya! Just be sure to go to a Tint place that is reputable and has a lifetime warranty on the tint. That way, if you do happen to get busted by the 'man', they can take off the tint (BTW-they would only take off the Pass & Driver Side window tint.) free of charge. You would still have tint on the Rear Pass & Driver windows and the Hatch. Its only a fix-it-ticket anyways. After you show the 'fuzz' that your windows are not tinted anymore, just go back and get the 2 windows tinted again.
I have 35% on my Driver & Pass Sides and 20% on my Hatch. Being that the Hatch is darker, it makes my tC look darker on the side windows. Good luck.
i have 35% on the driver and passanger sides and then a 20 on the little mirrors and a 5 on the hatch i have had 2 tickets now and next ticket ill be at what the tint cost me lol 225 these things are expencive but i like the look so ill deal with it
i've got 20% on the front and limo on the rear and windshield visor/banner (whatever u call it)...
got pulled over once for the tint and let go w/ a warning.
then pulled over again for the tint, got a ticket, but got it dismissed in court.

I'm too paranoid to go darker than 35, although I bet I wouldn't get too hassled....
My car is a cop magnet anyways... Scared to give them any more ammo on me....

I got 20% all around. AT first I thought it was too dark...def makes the car look hot though! I got pulled over in philly for an illegal manuver and the cop didn't even mention the tint!!
I've still not yet been pulled over for the tint, knock on wood!
IN Pa there is no % minimum, the rule is that u "must be able to see inside the vehicle"....So there's a lot of leeway there! Bonus for me!

i have 20% as well and i have yet to be pulled over for it or been bothered for it. here is the deal cops dont like it cause they cant see in the car before you roll down your window so you could have a gun and they couldnt see it so i can understand. so when i get pulled over or when i see a cop i just roll it down before i ever come to a stop and i have no problems
some cops will ask you to roll them up a bit just to see....especially if you have limo in the back.
If it's a shade or two less in the front, they usually let you go.
Insurance will NOT go up due to a fix it ticket...only for moving violations & accidents do they usually go up. As for moving violations, those won't cause an uprate unless you're stupid enough to report it to the ins. company, or upon renewal when they reassess your driving record.

I'd wait it out and see how strict the Police are at enforcing tint tickets. I know in my home town, they do not enforce it, however in a neighboring town if you don't have two hands on the wheel they will pull you over) Also keep in mind that the tC has a dark interior, this will make it seem darker but harder to see out of at night because the ambient light is absorbed inside of your car. If you want to black it out 20 percent is going to be plenty...if you want a little shadow 35 percent will be alright. That my .02 cents
Exactly, I went 20% everywhere except for windshield and front windows. Front windows I went 35%.
I've had a cop literally pull up RIGHT BESIDE ME to pace me (caught him out of the corner of my eye in the passenger side-mirror). My heart was pounding thinking of all the crap he could have gotten me for....but he just paced me for about 30 seconds, probably was looking in (had the sunroof visor open! YES!) and just exited.
He could have gotten me for it EASY and the move that I pulled which caught his attention in the first place wasn't exactly "legal" either....

i dont know anything about tyngsboro but i live in dorchester and the cops have too many other things to worry about. it will be a year with 20% tint tomorrow. if i travel to other areas where the cops might grab me, i open my shades to let more light shine inside, so far so good

Tyngsboro is not a very populated city but I usually go into Lowell and Nashua.
I see people getting pulled over in Nashua all the time, don't know exactly for what and Lowell is similiar to Dorchester.
hey beans, where did you tint your car?
