Default The Poor Man's Chrome Wheel

I would love some chrome rims for my TC, but I just can't justify spending $800.00 and up for rims and possibly tires.

If I were to polish my stock 17" alloys to a mirror finish or close to one, do you think it'd be worth it?

If I were to polish them, and then hit the rims with a few layers of clear coat and wet sanded, would that make it easier to maintain?

Lastly:

1. How much would a set of stock TC rims go for (new)
2. What would a set of stock TC tires sell for (new)
3. Anyone want to reccomend me some super cheap chrome wheels?

I was almost positive this thread had something to do with Tinfoil and Spray Adhesive.

Uh, sure, you can paint your rims a mirror finish, but it's never going to be close to chrome.

Why not look into getting your rims chromed at a local shop? There are plenty around, and you'll be much happier with something that isn't just painted chrome.

Powder coating or ceramic coating would be a good cheap alternative. You can get a nice ceramic coating that can be polished, and then add a clear powder coat on top of it.

Just chrome the stock wheels... It's only like $300-400.
