bro, mods like that are best done in addition to the stock lights... its just an extra switch/relay. drive with the stocks on, then switch the blues on when it's time to show

Yeah blue lights are a big no no! The switch idea is pretty good but where would you put the other lights?

Maybe you could try the cool white led's instead. Those are the one I have. I have been fallowed by many police officers and never been pulled over. Try superbrightleds.com or v-leds.com

I think it goes for almost all state for trying to be the new calif law... governor and whoever makes the law(s) just don't understand our fun.

I think they are jealous of us haha

blue and red lights are not allowed because its the cop's color so try other colors and see what happen.

That and blue and red lights are considered impersonating a cop which is dumb but I can understand why.

Just move to north to WY and you can do whatever you want to your car.

i just stumbled upon this thread, but i had to share my experience. i have bright white LED's for the license plate lights, but they look like it has a shade of blue from a distance.

so i was on the PA turnpike heading to Philly from Harrisburg at around 8 PM and got pulled over. i didn't know why at first...

State Trooper (ST): "licence, registration and insurance."

-hand it to him and he examines quickly-

ST: "your license shows that you should be wearing glasses."
Me: "Yes, but i have contacts on"
ST: "i'm not trying to blind you, but i'm gonna take my flash light to check your eyes"

-blinds me temporarily-

Me: "ok, can i ask why i got pulled over?"
ST: "your license plate lights are blue"
Me: "umm, they're really not blue. it only looks blue because i replaced them with bright white LED's."
ST: "OK, well they look blue. i have a test to check the color"

- ST goes to the back of my car and comes back a couple seconds later -

ST: "OK, they're not blue. the test i did was take a piece of paper and put it under the light. whatever light appears on the piece of paper shows the color. you're free to go."

so yea...that was my thing. ST was nice and professional though.

^ wtf lol where were you!? i've never heard of that before.. although PA cops have nothing better to do really.. im sure they're bored..

i think the license plate maybe be a big deal.. maybe the colors can fake out the license plate numbers or something?

it's mainly because everything has to be visible, so when they do pull you over for speeding at night it's easier.. same with the front lic. plate law.. just so they can get your info down in case of anything..
