you guys do realize that most of the hoods on the market are just fiberglass hoods with a sheet of carbon fiber on top?

thats why they are so cheap, if you actually purchase a full carbon fiber hood, they range anywhere from 800-1500.

why else is it that you can purchase is c/f hood for 300 -500 bucks, because its not full carbon fiber.

^^not true...
Most of these are fiberglass with a CF sheet on top but...
Others like Motor FX and Seibon, are WET CF...which needs to have a coat of gloss applied every 6-10 months or it will go yellow. That kind of CF is also pretty cheap...
The expensive CF hoods that ur talking about is DRY CF which never needs a gloss coat and is extremely expensive

gloss has nothing to do with it, its about the skeleton, and hood as a whole.

as far as i know, all hte hoods availible for the tC have a fiberglass skeleton, wihch means.. its not full c/f.

thats simply what i was saying.

ya..

i mean i would rock a c/f hood any day, however my color doesnt match c/f thats why im not gonna do it. but if i still had my black tC, i would definately be rockin c/f.

even if it is for looks, fiberglass weighs less than steel, so your still savin some weight.

Thank ya thank ya. Like my sig. says, my car ain't ever gonna be done. I ALWAYS have plans. Next on the agenda is a custom enclosure for my system with a 19" screens & a nintendo wii, & then there's a bbk I'm hoping to get from StopTech, I'm just waiting to hear back from them on prices. & within the next month or so I'm getting my dash, my armrest & my pillars carbon fibered. I also just bought a 2nd body kit & I'm gonna be shipping off my current one to florida to get more carbon fiber work done to it. & if money allows it I'm getting a full carbon fiber roof replacement. I'm also waiting on my 19" gloss black Motegi FF7s with Dunlop Sportmaxx tires.

I'm sure there's more I just can't think of it, haha.
