Here is my engine bay. I will try to get some more photos tomorrow. I just got a strut bar and radiator cover for it but I haven't installed them yet.

I'll get better pics later this week, but this thread needed a bump so heres a crappy pic of mine, I just reinstalled my freshly painted engine cover :-)

I hope the paint holds up lol, it isnt high heat resistant or anything so cross your fingers for me :-)

I noticed that when I accientally breathed in without taking my mouth fully off of the hose connector, it wouldnt allow air to be sucked out, but only INTO the valve cover. SO, I figured:

1) The valve cover causes suction inward, not out. So it doesnt make a difference if its CAI air or Engine Bay air.

2) The breather on the CAI could be theoretically a BPV, but its not nearly large enough to be efficient, so the breather there is to filter out any incoming air.

3) Your right Neb, it does look cool. Thanks

I did my research about the breathers too before I put them on. But from what I understand of the mechanics of the valve cover.. it really shouldnt hurt anything. If it does, though, Ill immediately take it off and correct the mistake.

except you put the breather on before the maf sensor. SO now you have unmeasured air comming into your motor.. which will cause it to run lean!

Great job on the research!

yeah I used duplicolor red Metalspecks paint with a thick layer of clearcoat.

I love the way it looks, but I'm still worried because neither the color or clear paint are heat resistant... we'll just see what happens
