Has anyone had this problem? Those kinda things make me nervous b/c I hate creating new problems...I suppose they are removable though if it comes down to it?

I've only had mine since X-mas, so I dunno about long term effects. Yes they are removable. Mine are from WeatherTech and don't have any 3M tape so removal would be fairly easy.

I've had mines for almost a year, they're the inchannel ones. i dont know if i installed them wrong but i have a small gap of the 3m tape showing on both the driver side and passenger side(hardly noticable). the tape is on there strong but i think you should be able to remove it with enough effort.
Just follow the instructions the visors come with and roll the window up and down or w/e. When i first had it installed, the auto roll up for the windows didnt work all the time, but once its been sitting in there for a while the windows should work normally.

After just a few days, my auto up works just fine...well, it slows down just a tad at the top.

^^That's all I was trying to say about them. That small added load may cause gaps down the road, but I haven't heard of anything with the tC with these. Just past experience with cars with power windows and those without. Just seems to add a bit more drag on the actuator and the window lift motor.

Yeah it makes sense. I hope I don't have problems down the road. I'm willing to take that risk though, seeing as how the other type (non-inchannel) look kinda weird and don't work with the B-pillar appliques.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend anything other than inchannel either. Funny huh? My dad had a set of out stick ones on his S-10 and one flew off about 3 weeks after he put them on when he was on the highway. Luckily it didn't hit another car but he came home and said f**k that and took the other off. I had the inchannel in my 96 Ranger, manual windows, and they've been on from the 2nd day I had that truck. No problems with that one

No, it's good to make sure other members are aware of potential problems that may arise from using them.

WeatherTech

I like those visors, but just too much for me to afford. Anything less expensive? I only want the in-channel kind, not the kind with tape.

question......on sparks toyota they sell the vent visors too but it doesn't state if they use tape or not.

Here's the link http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...6&parts_id=684

It says it only cost $37.50

Judging by the pic thet have (even though it's not a tC) it looks like they require tape, they do not appear to be in-channel.
