hey guys im having trouble fitting my nrg hood dampers and making my hood close. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? and if so any pictures? thanks!

 

are you using the right holes?

 

im using the top hole of the hinge. and the bolt on the bottom. im pretty sure its the right one.

 

Can you post some pictures please? Maybe someone could help you alittle better with some pics.

 

i would really like to see how this issue is resolved. i was really considering purchasing these.

I'll try to take some pics this weekend too. I had the same problem getting them to fit and ended up taking them back off.

 

yea i'll take some pictures. i took them off for the time being cus the fitment wasn't working too well.

 

ok before you say its the wrong way or etc. i changed the position of the bolt on the hood mount on BOTH bolts top and bottom. The picture only shows that its on the bottom pointing right on the left side of the hood. I changed it pointing left on top and bottom too and still no go.

 

i didnt know NRG have these fitment issues.. i wonder if there is some slight changes on the hood from later models

 

THE REASON IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE HOOD DAMPER UPSIDE DOWN THE WIDER PART OF IT GOES AT THE BOTTOM.

i tried that too. it didn't fit. and i did it multiple ways. if someone has pictures and can show me exactly their setup that would be great.

u have to compress the shock during installation (reduces the angle of the hood opening), if I remember correctly.

Thats one thing I dont like about these. The second thing is the hood doesnt actually lift open with this mod.

 

what do you mean doesnt actually lift open? like doesnt lift open by itself? how bout the redline?

 

yes, on its own. Like the hatch...

 

for a lower price, i guess thats great damper.. I ordered the NRG coz i thought it looks better than redline.. not opening on its own is not an issue for me though, as long as fit is great im good
