I bought a bsp tc about a year ago. In that time I have discovered a huge flaw by scion. The paint. Anything will scratch the paint. Let me give an example of how I got one of my most recent scratches: I pushed my friend after an argument, he happened to hit the tc, before he fell. He wore a button shirt, and the buttons scratched the paint. In direct sunlight, you can see the scratches very easily. There are only a few deep scratches (primer showing) and TONS!! of light scratches, most I dont even know how I got.

My friend told me to get the whole car repainted, but it would cost atleast 3 grand for a good one. It would be cheaper to trade it in for a new civic ex, which Ive had my eyes on for a while. I know theyre slower than the tc, but atleast theyre paint doesnt suck.

Has anyone else had this problem? and what should I do?

 

they have a horrible clearcoat...i have the worse rock chips in the front of my car.....

 

^ I would imagine it to be pretty difficult to see them on white.

 

up close its like crazy grey spots......from a distance like 3 feet away its all good

chips on teh front and rear bumper, clear coat in some spots i can feel are fading, front bmper color is a little yellow (SW TC), not smooth coating for sure.

ehh im totally over it. most of thet time, factory paint jobs arent that great to begin with... maybe in 1-2 years ill repaint the car... hmmm wat color shoud i get?

 

speaking of poor paint jobs...I recently just added a rs1 lipkit & taillight covers on my tc.(both painted super wht. 2 match car) my baby is almost 2yrs old and i'm thinking bout repainting the entire car...I know a part of the kit covers the front bumper so
question is, will i have 2 remove the lip kit & taillight covers for prepping & sanding or can i just leave it on??And if i do remove the lipkit 2 get repainted..can I get rid of the drill holes??...
