Default projector retro fit help - HIDRetro.com not my solution

I need someone's help to retro fit some projectors into a headlight. I had a set but one malfunctioned and I sent one back to HIDRetro and it got lost. Liep has had my money for about 3 months now and has done NOTHING so I am looking for an alternate solution. If anyone can guarentee a successful retro fit resembling: http://www.hidretro.com/page52.htm

all i need is the passenger headlight totally fitted with the same shrouds and projectors.

I researched alot and did my own full HID/angel eye retrofit. It is half way or so through the project that you realize why people charge so mcuh for such a job. It's true that the cost of materials and parts don't add up to $1500 if you're a good eBay shopper, but the remainder of the cost is truly in the labor. It's quite a bit of work, time, precision, and patients to create a good set. They are not mass produced, they are hand crafted, and therein lies the cost. I would charge a similar fee for making them for someone because my time is worth that much.

I figured you didn't. I was more or less responding to Yanki01 and others who diss the custom retrofit prices. They usually don't consider the reason for the price... merely that they think it's a rip-off. There's no denying it's 'spensive, but there's also no denying the street appeal (and all the looks) they get.

yea but thats just one headlight. I have gatherd pretty much all my materials besides the little things such as...

TSX projectors $190
Philips 4300k D2S bulbs $60
Matsu____a Ballast $180

the rest of the materials will cost me no more than $300. Totaling out to around $7-800. Im not bashing him for the cost or anything, i know this is no easy project! I just wouldnt want him to get ripped a new one for this.

Yeah, some people don't realize that they can do as good a job as the retrofitter if they just do their research and take their time in constructing them. There are good resources here and around the web, and even a step-by-step documentation or two on this site. The biggest rip-off I think was the guys sellign the customized headlights used in the Nitto tC. All they did was spray painted the inside silver and put some led's around the reflector. The clear corners were cheaply designed and they don't even sell them seperately.

what other people (not bashing anyone at all) dont really realize when the say I could do it myself is that I really couldnt, I am a full time student who is balancing his school work with a social life and work to pay for everything in my life. I mean yea I could do it and save money, but I dont have the resources or knowledge myself and I would rather an experianced person do it than me screw something up.

I just wish Liep would contact me so i dont have to take legal action. I mean i know he is absent minded, but he is just MIA.

Hey raWr, read his post above. He already explained he doesn't have time to do the retro himself either. It is very time consuming to do it right, not to mention if you aren't a DIY'er, it's a pretty advanced undertaking for the inexperienced.

thanks jaski for clearing that up.

I would love to learn how to do it, but I just don't see me trusting myself to undertake something of that magnitude. I am blessed and very fortunate to be able to seek knowledge from people that are talented with cars, but I have yet to find someone willing to go into the headlights.

Rawr and others, I can't wait to see your work!

crap did i quote instead of fix? lol, o wellz
yah no angel eyes yet

wasn't sure should i keep this headlight or not, i wanted a better look as i believe i did a crappy job on it. Perhaps getting a aftermarket projector headlamp and replacing it's projector. I find that more clean i guess.

i dunno if it was neccessary for you to put kia's clear lense on a pretty much clear tsx projector, but i guess if u want it for show, it'll be nice. Is it shaped a bit differently than the tsx original lense? taller? can't wait to see the pics
