Our kits don't have glareguards - never heard of those ;)

Like I said - I would strongly suggest you stay away from anything over 6-8K... but that's just my professional opinion ;)

Also, 8K is going to be blue

THanks

another thing i thought was worth mentioning, is sometimes you get what you pay for... granted, my kit was $250 shipped, but it's made be HELLA, so i know it's gonna look good. (that is, when it gets here...) stupid NY transit strike

Jlevi,
what are your thoughts on putting the HID kit that you sell in the stock halogen setup? have you tested it before? thanks

hey JleviSW, I'm curious why you think a person shouldn't go any higher than 6-8k?

I was wanting to get a kit from you but I was looking for a 12000k BLUE hid kit like at gohid.com

a guy in my town has them on a white NSX and it can be spotted out of every single car in town, and looks ULTRA SEXY.

but why not go that high? is it bad? or just can cause more trouble with police?
and can y'all get the 12000k kit I'm looking for? I'd love to deal with you on that.

Ryan

P.S.
I love your site, I got 2 pairs of Angel Eyes from you for my tC.

i got this one. *clears throat* you see, the more color you have in the light, the less visibility you have with that light. the 6K set is your best possible visibility, because it is pure white. a lot of companies reccommend the 8K, because it still is plenty bright (not quite as bright as 6K, but still bright), and has a nice color to it.

correct. if visibility is your main concern, get a 6000K.

12000k it is.

gohid.com has the best kits I have seen in PERSON to anyone who wants to know.
as far as COLOR GOES that is.

the guy driving that NSX with the blue 12000k bulbs I can spot him out 50 headlights easy and it just makes him stand out THAT much more with that car.

I've yet to see purple ones in person but I think it'd look sick on that black cherry tc =P

Basically, the brightest HIDs out there are OEM - 4100K to 4300K - which is the color of sunlight. Our eyes are adapted to that color.

As you go higher (or lower) on the Kelvin scale, you get larger (or smaller) wavelengths that don't travel as well.

Essentially, anything above or below that scale is going to be DIMMER than 4100K. 5000K is close enough if you want light output. 6000K is maybe 10-20% dimmer. 8000K is probably 20-30% dimmer. I've seen this myself on my own car. Anything over 8K is literally dimmer than a HALOGEN bulb. You might as well stick with halogens.

Also, the intense blue/purple color on the road WILL fatigue your eyes more. You won't see jack. You'll probably also get pulled over. Then, your eyes will bleed out of your sockets and the sky will fall... LOL. But seriously though, don't go above 8K - it's just not worth even getting the kit unless it's a show car.

Also, I have not tried HIDs in the tC housings. I know you will get a lot of glare, but I don't know if it's the end of the world. I put a set in an xB's headlights and it was awesome.

By the way, we have 2 sets of 9006 5000K (which fits your tC) IN STOCK ready to ship.

I thought if you buy a 12k hid bulb and put it on your ballast it will be converted to 12k? No?

any color besides a pure white will most likely get you hassled by the cops, but it all depends how lax they are in your area. i know cali guys have a hard time getting away with anything.

12,000 is just so wrong. And its not Street legal, So if you run a little kid over, Cause u had to have cool purple light's, ill be the first one to say " Fry him"

And there's alot of Wrong info threw out this tread, and some correct stuff. 12,000 is DEEP PURPLE

41-4300k is Stock OEM on all benz,BMW,lexus..ect....

5000 is pure WHITE

6000 is BLUE

i have a ton of purple in my projector's, That are the Audi Valeo's..

You guys see this Deep purple/blue light and think its This special" bulb,

its usually The Cutoff line from the Projector's! That make them look Purple or blue. As u get close to them, they appear White, its NOT the bulb, all the time...

The lamest thing i see on the road are PURPLE/BLUE bright lights, that Throw out blue/purple light on the road. its Sooo Ghetto. lol

The Street's are not Some downtown Club, Ya know, lol
