Default Quality of the paint.

Does anyone know what type of paint they used on the Scion?. Is it the same paint they use on the Toyota and Lexus brands? I think the paint is a bit thin and gets surface scratches very easily. I know Dupont makes higher grades of paint that are much stronger than the stuff Toyota chose to use. If the paints used on the Lexus brand are of a superior quality I would be interested in using them. Are you guys satisfied with the quality of the paint?

everything that touches the paint leaves a mark.
The paint I think is the same as lexus and toyota, just not applied the same. I was able to purchase touch up Flint mica 1e0 from a lexus dealer and it appears to look the same.

Yeah...the paint seems cheap. They need to do something about it.

THe paint itself is fine, theres nothing wrong with the paint per se. The biggest problem is the clear coat.

All of scion paint has been used in some toyota/lexus car at some point or another. Including RS colors. If it was exclusive, the car would cost a little more to make profit worth it in my opinion.

Flint Mica seems to be a fairly common color on the RX's, seen quite a few 'round my way. Say what you want about GM, but they seem to use much better paint.

That said go on to any car forum and there are people complaining about paint chips, easy scratches, etc.
