Default question about sun roof

welcome me to scion life!

im having a problem with my girls TC and im trying to figure out if its a common problem before i call the dealership and get the run around.

that little glass wind deflector that sticks up in front of the sun roof when the top is open cracked/shattered today when she closed the top. has anyone heard of this problem before with these tops? the tint is holding most of it together for now but im a little PO'ed about the situation.

do yall think they will replace it under some kind of warranty? if not does anyone know the price of that glass? thanks in advance for any input.

yes, they had a recall for those on the 2005.i'm not sure if they would replace it under warranty. take it to the dealer.

Doesnt matter -you can tell them you were driving and it cracked ...then shattered. They will replace it under warranty because its obviously defective.

yeah, its not supposed to break, i'm so sure about it, i'm positive.

the warrenty should cover it unless your girl did something stupid and put something up there that interfered with the roof, or if say she closed it on a cold night and there was some ice in the way or something.

He has an 06 - my 05 I brought it in for a recall. They sent me one of those model tC's as a "sorry" which was pretty cool. I also brought my car in for the airbags and they are sending me some kind of bag ( I didnt want another car ).

there was a recall on the 2005 side curtain air bags. There were 3 levels and my car fell into the group that needed all 3 steps replaced.

When I bought my '05 tc last December, used, the windows were tinted all the way around 15%.
My question is whether or not the sun roof and deflector are dark tinted from the factory. It looks like it's stock, but could just be a really good tint job.
I'm taking my car in to have the sun roof deflector replaced under the recall notice, and hope that it will look the same.

^ it will. all tc's have a tinted roof. Don't worry - the recalled one looks the same. I had mine replaced also
