Default Question on ABS front lip installation

Just did a test fit of the ABS Dynamics front lip, and the center portion hits the lower grill. This pushes it forward about 3/8" and causes some bad gaps.

For those that installed one, did you cut the middle out of the lip? Or pop out the grill and force the lip under it?

I trim'd mine, but I didnt want to. When I go turbo, im taking out bottom grill piece for the FMIC, and you'll be able to see where the lip stops..

Only thing Im worried about is the sides of the lip where there is a little gap.

Yeah, after I popped out the lower grill that looks like the only option. After the grill was out I noted the dirty area showing how much the grill overlaps, markered both ends of the lip and drew a line using the grill as a guide to make sure the curve was correct.

Now if I decide to do a metal mesh grill I'm likely screwed, like you said. Ahh well, looks good for now.

But I see the ABS front lip gap in your Avatar!

Still trying to decide how to remove that little hole, sucks for you though...Carbon Fiber doesnt really flex, and if it does... forget about it..

oh yeah, everyone has that issue.

When i said it fitted flawlessly, i was referring to the center flange that seems to be long enough to go past the lower grill.

for that little "hole", it doesn't bother me one bit.. its not even considered a gap to me, i could barely fit a piece of paper into it.

Could likely be fixed with a little work with a heat gun. If I can't get mine tight I'll let you know how that works.

Oh, and for better fitment overall, use a dremel sanding drum to chamfer the edges of the lip on any near-horizontal areas of the bumper. Like around the ducts and the center grill area. It allows the lip to snug up nearly flat with the bumper,

seriously.. wow i was suprised that my cf one had pre-drilled holes and my abs ones didn't have the holes.. i bet that it was the new batch of lips that have the holes predrilled, my sponsor picked it up directly from abs dynamics, rhythmnsmoke at least u did a great job on the holes doesn't look like any cracks.
