Default Rear Emblem Filler (SHAVED REAR EMBLEM)

What can I use to fill this hole in and bondo won't work. I'm looking for the stuff that the people who do it right use.lol

I had this done on my 05 tC 2yrs ago and getting ready to sell the car and I want to pull it off and put it on my 08 tC. The problem is whatever the guy used is popping out and has been since a week after I got it (long story why I didn't get it fixed).

Anyway I'd like to strip it down and refill it with the right stuff. Any info?

Fiberglass maybe? I'm not body work pro but that would seem to be the better route.

No but thanks. I know that's not the right stuff. It's like a ABS plastic filler and I can't seem to find the right stuff on google.

you can use bondo, you just have to give the hole some structure. if you don't then the area for the bondo is too big so it expands and contracts, making it peel off the car and crack. so if you reinforce the inside hole with something, then bondo in the smaller areas, it will work

Yes I think this is the one I'm looking for. I remember seeing it up on here one other time from some guy that worked in a body shop. This is available at auto part stores? I'll have to check it out. I thought it was special order stuff but that was a couple of years ago.

Yeah let me know. Put it out in the sun when done or on the car for a day or two and let me know if it pops up/out. I'm not sure what the guy used on mine (said it was plastic filler) but it seems after it was in the sun it started to pop out.

Either way I might just start stripping it down.

It is a hole/dent shaped like the emblem and two holes if I remember correctly.

i would just buy the fiberglass piece they sell on ebay. saves you a lot of time. only thing you gotta do is get it painted and transfer some of the parts from the old one to the new.

Heres a link to something that might be of interest. Go down to the part where he fills in the turn signal. He uses an epoxy and also a polyester filler. He says that the bondo tends to shrink thats why epoxy is a good choice. I plan on do that to my turn signal. Just thought that this might help.

Go to www.kent-automotive.com they have the urethane filler you need. That's what I used on mine and once it was smoothed out and hardened up you couldn't tell there was ever a hole there.
