reduce HID headlight glare???? HELP!
i just got my 8000K HID kit, and installed it, and there seems to be a lot of glare up top, and even more to the right, which i know is supposed to be there, a little. but when im driving under trees and such, i can see light up on them, and i don't think thats right... plus HID pics i've seen on here have a little white glare thats supposed to be there on the ground to each side of the car, mine do not... basically, how do i reduce the glare? if i can at all, that is....thanks so much
have a great day everyone!

I honestly hope someone will help you . Problem is , in this forum , most think the glare is ok to have . I cannot help as they should not be on your car . Good luck though . I am sure someone will be along shortly .......
most after market projects are alright the cut off is questionable at most and it doesn't disperse light very well (hot spots in the middle). If you wanted to go that route either buy the new '08 tC projectors for 500+ dollars or retrofit and build your own 800+ dollars.
I don't personally have that kind of money so instead I'm testing out a set of bluebats eyelids that do cut glare, but to some may not look great. I can't show the pics now but keep an eye out for a thread soon by blue bat.

You might have to aim them down a bit.... but the only way to really get rid of it would be to get a proper housing for HIDs... which do not exist for the tC unless you retro.
Even the 08 projectors are still questionable (until I see some beam pics anyways). So even they might not take a HID bulb too well.
And falkor is right... a LOT of people here seem to think that's "OK" ... when really you're putting other drivers in danger (and yourself).

Did you check to make sure the bulb installed correctly? If it didn't align and fit in straight, it could be pointing upwards in the housing.
Glare is one thing, but having it light up tree tops doesn't sound like the typical glare problem.

Can probably ignore all of the distance type stuff, but read on...
^^^ thanks! when i read the bottom part...
so just stick the screwdriver on the aiming part then start adjusting the beam pattern... or loosen the aiming part first then use screwdriver to adjust it... confuse!

Well they say "screw" but I think it's more of a nut you can turn with a socket or a wrench. And it only aims vertically, so only up and down aiming.
Really, you can't miss that nut on the back - it's a big silver one near the bottom of the housing.

ya its not the actual light shining too high, the light is very much lighting up the road in front of me, and its super white, i love it. but there is faint glare, maybe that im just noticing b/c these headlights are so bright, or actual white light, too high...
